My Father, the Captain: My Life With Jacques Cousteau

Jean Michel states in the beginning of the book that this is not a biography of his father - it's all about his life with JYC, and it is. Very enjoyable read, and insightful in what it was like growing up in the Cousteau family.

This was a Christmas present for my 9 year old grandson. He loved it and is doing a book report on it for school.

lovely book about someone I grew up admiring, but my children have never heard of, even though one is a rec diver.

This book is well worth the money if you enjoy all that the oceans have to offer us and a bit of history with it. The early days of the Cousteau family and how things came to be. All very interesting and great views from the eyes of one of the Cousteau's children.

The book gave an inside-the-family view of Jacques Cousteau and his family as well as his explorations. It covers many years so does not give great depth into any one area of exploration but leads you to find additional resources or films. Fun to read!

The author, Cousteau's son, writes a sensitive and informative biography of his father. The son has a kindly understanding of the people included, even when they show they are utterly human. Excellent reading, well written.

An insight into the human side of Jacques Cousteau and provides a very emotional trip through his life and that of his Family. A fascinating and personal view into the life of a very public man. A view of what a family can mean, and how easily it can be lost.

1st the book was received in new condition.Any one interested in Jacques Cousteau or the Calipso will find it informative.Since I'm a Scuba diver , I thoroughly enjoyed it.They gave us the door to the Under Water World & learned the Oceans depths.

A fabulous read. The story of Captain Cousteau through the eyes of his son brings a life of dedication preserving our oceans to life for the reader. A moving personal account of the father of diving brings to life a man known to many by the TV shows and many books. A lovely book.
