Electra Aluminum Townie Fender Set

First of all, these look great on my daughters Townie and I am very happy with the end result. Installation wasn't difficult but as mentioned in other reviews, there are no instructions and it does take some time (mostly because you will need to remove the wheels) to correctly attach the fenders to bike frame. Note: You will receive 4 stays of different lengths which I assume are for the different size bikes that you can buy, but you actually only need two of them (one for each wheel) to complete the installation. You can just choose the most appropriate size stay for each wheel.Again, once I was finished, I was very happy with the looks. My only regret was not making my daughter help as I missed a great teaching opportunity on basic bike maintenance!

Unfortunately, these didn’t fit my 2014 townie. Needed to drill a hole in the rear fender to get it to attach. Also, the front fender stay for a suspension model didn’t fit (the one marked for non-suspension models, did, although my model does have a suspension fork).While I was fine paying a premium for proprietary fenders, I was hoping they fit and consequently would be a breeze to install. Simply didn’t turn out to be the case.

Love my fenders! After reading the reviews regarding folks encountering DIY installation problems, I took them to a bike shop to have them installed as well as some other Electra Townie accessories. Mine are a nice sturdy aluminum, not the plastic ones. If you own a 26 inch Electra Townie bike that you want to ride even in a little rain, then they are worth the investment.

Nice looking and fits perfect. My only deduction of one star was that the install instructions were horrible. You better know something about how fenders are mounted to bikes to install these. Not as simple of the process as you may think. Better instructions, better rating.

I completely agree with the other reviewers. I own two sets of these fenders, and they are a great product, but they need to include some instructions. The first set took me a while to install because of the trial and error required to figure the right length stands and adjust the fenders, but the second set was a breeze.These are great for any Townie owners, but either contact Electra for instructions, or have a bike shop install them if you are worried about it. Overall, I still recommend them.This would easily be a 5 star product if instructions were included.

Have not put back one on since we will need to watch a YouTube video for that one. But I really like the matte finish.

The front fit was exact. the rear fit needed some modifications to make it fit and stop rattling. Also the pre-drillled holes in the rear fender did not match the nuts and bolts on the bike. Since I'm handy, I made it all work. Nice compliment to the bike's appearance.

The description (I believe) says "Fenders are Plastic". They are not. They are Aluminum.As reviewed by other people, there are no instructions. I emailed Electra, and they sent me very detailed install instructions. I had no problems after that, except I didn't know how toremove the rear wheel correctly, but now I know!They make the bike look like a cruiser, and except for the lack of instructions I couldn't be happier.
