This book is probably great but I like pictures.. if you except to see how the dishes should turn out you will be disappointed. The front photo is very catchy but that's the only photo in the book. Otherwise nice recipes. I am returning it.

This book is great. Seasonal and holiday tips and family customs and traditions. It's like you are reminiscing family holidays. Reads like a book. I read it cover to cover! Will be passed down in my family!

This book is GREAT! It not only gives you the recipes but it also explains all the old time traditions and the current traditions that come from them.The author has translated recipes into English and modern cooking terms (like using a food processor). Many good cooks can "tweak" the recipes to duplicate how mama or baba specifically made them but this book is a GREAT way to preserve those recipes that they never wrote down! Many thanks to the author.

This well written book is very nicely done. A must have for Ukrainians or any cook who enjoys ethnic cuisine. It has all of the traditional recipes adapted for the modern kitchen. Easy to use and well illustrated. It also beautifully describes the many, rich Ukrainian festivals and traditions throughout the year.

I bought this cookbook to try to recreate some recipes that my grandmother used (and I never learned form her). The book is great in this respect the author spent a considerable amount of time to glean the best recipes that will make you feel like you are at home for a traditional Ukrainian feast.

Lots of great authentic recipes. The recipes are easy to follow and contain ingredients that are easy to find. There is a great glossary in the back and the book is laid out well. Their aren't a lot of Ukrainian cookbooks out there to choose from.

The book has almost no images. Who needs cooking book like that?
