Nice, thick blankets. We moved my elderly mom from her small 3-bedroom home of 60 years. We had two boxes of 8 blankets, and that was plenty. Would definitely buy these again. Only problem -- I won't have to buy them again because husband won't let me pass these on to someone else for their move; instead, we have to store them. So I have two large, heavy boxes of blankets in the shed. Oh, well, I'm sure we'll find uses over the years.

Bought these to turn the corner of a bedroom into a recording area. First off... yes, they smell. They WILL offgas... a lot. Unwrapped them in the room and within 30 minutes I had a metallic taste in my mouth. A couple of days with the blankets outside in the sun spread out on the back deck removed 95% of the smell and offgassing. As for sound deadening... they work pretty good. I have them hung three thick in two panels, and they soak up a decent amount of echo and flutter in the space. They're about as thick as a thin comforter for your bed. Nothing to write home about, but they'll do the job if you are on a budget. Also, don't put them in the dryer. The outermost layer of material is some sort of plastic cloth, and it will melt very quickly (I tried it and almost ruined two of the blankets).

To be honest, we bought these to replace worn-out commercial moving blanketes that we use as pads for the dog crates we have at home and for travel. While not as thick as commercial movers' pads, they are perfect for this use when folded up. Overall workmanship is good, and they will also be fine for other uses such as protecting auto interiors---and not to neglect---for general personal transport of household items. Some reviewers have noted a chemical odor attributed to the dark blue dye in the covering, but we didn't notice any scent at all, and neither did the dogs. They're a good buy.

Bought these based on other reviews. Was aware of smell problem (it is strong) so I washed two in cold water with white vinegar and a white washcloth. Dye came off in my wash machine and the white washcloth turned blue/gray! Thank god I did not put these in my dryer. I am now trying to figure out how to clean out my wash machine!

I just stapled them to the walls. Almost completely eliminated reverb for my setup. Recommend washing to help with the Oily smell and feel as well as to fluff the stuffing for better sound absorbtion.

These arrived with an absolutely HORRIBLE SMELL that filled our garage when we opened them. They’ve been sitting outside for 3 days. We can’t even open our windows because the smell wafts into our house. We sprayed them with baking soda/water to no avail and of course they are not returnable. Now we know why.

These worked extremely well for our move. The blankets are quite heavy and seem to be very durable. I'm glad I picked up this QTY, as I didn't need the higher count pack. These will surely come in hand throughout the years. Highly recommend.
