SO GOOD!
I do love John Bevere! If you purchase the audible version, it is narrated by him-which I appreciate-and you can hear the intent and inflection of the author throughout. It is an easy read, and truly life changing. It has opened my eyes to some misunderstandings and, sadly HUGE mistakes I have made in my long life as a believer. I am hopeful about the future--which I have NOT been in a very long time--because of the wonderful use of scripture, original context and the subject matter of the wilderness. I hadn't even realized that what I've been dealing with was a wilderness.I highly recommend this "oldy but goody" of John's books, especially if you are feeling stuck, lost and perhaps forgotten by God. It will assure you that YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN, and give practical helps to get your hope back and steps to a "latter will be greater..." future ahead of you!Would be a GREAT gift--I bought a hard copy to share with others in addition to my audible copy!

Great read
This book made some really good points about going through tough times, and how we should approach God even when we feel like nothing is happening. I found this book to be very helpful and gives a great perspective on how to face trials.

Just WOW!
I’ve been a Christian my whole life. I was saved when I was 11 years old. Today I am 59. Six years ago went through a terrible divorce. Lost everyone of my friends. Lost all my church friends. Had to leave the church I loved. Now, my son and daughter who I love so much are no longer talking to me or wanting to see me. These past six years I have been in what I called a dark stormy Valley. Actually, I guess a wilderness. This book has been helping me so much. I’m only about halfway through it but I’m reading it very slowly and taking lots of notes. I’ve actually cried several times while reading this book. I even bought the audiobook as I plan on listening to that after I finish reading the book. I wish I would’ve read this book in my teens, early 20s. Looking back on my life I see now that I’ve been through quite a few wilderness seasons in my life. Pretty much failed all of them. But thanks to God‘s loving kindness unlike the children of Israel that wondered in the wilderness for 40 years and then died he hasn’t let me die yet. I almost feel like I’m in the worst wilderness that I’ve ever been in my life right now. I almost feel like maybe this is my last chance. So I know the Holy Spirit led me to this book. I just came across it while I was searching desperately for books on Amazon. Anyway, this book has been such an encouragement to me. I’m now going to buy and read all of his books. There’s a reason he gets such good reviews. His books are amazing. Anyway, like the Ledger song says “I’m not dead yet”. So I’m going to continue in this wilderness I’m in. But now I’m gonna praise the Lord and thank him for this wilderness that I’m in. God bless.

A foundational book every Christian should read!
All summer (2022) God has had me in a "cocoon" or wilderness season. Purposefully and slowly, I have been reading and pondering on this book all summer. God has spoken to me a lot as I've read through John Bevere's book "God, Where are you?!" It has encouraged me greatly during this (hard) season and I feel it is now launching me as I finish the book and summer is almost over. I can sense the "butterfly" season is quickly approaching, I would encourage every believer to read this book! I even bought a copy and sent it to my friend in England! "God is saying that the wilderness is where the way of the LORD is prepared." (see Isa. 40:3-8) If you're eager to live life God's way, for His Glory and purposes, this book gives you wonderful God-inspired insight to direct you well! Enjoy the read!

I have been wondering about the dry times in my life when I didn't hear much from God. This book was an an amazing book to let me know that I am not alone.

Good book! Great info for seeking, finding or getting closer to God
This is a book filled with information on struggles in walk with God, how to connect to God and how to stay closer to God. If you are wondering where God is in your life, the questions and layout of this book will help you grow in your relationship with God. This is a book that lays out simple ways to think about and challenge yourself on how to get closer to God. I am not one to write/highlight/mark a book in any way. I like my books to remain new looking after i am done with them, this book got me to pull out a highlighter and pen taking notes, highlighting, and marking up various points that need to look back to again and again.

wilderness path altering
This kind of book changes your outlook on what the wilderness really is. This has changed me turning into myself into depression into purposeful redirection. John Bevere is very matter-of-fact when he teaches from the Bible. The word of God, and all of his teaching in this book is in line with gods word, I’m so grateful that him and his wife have been obedient in their walk with Christ to bring tangible advice and process improvement in a biblical way.

Great Insight
John, thank you for your openness and sincerity. Yes, it is during our wilderness experience that we truly learn about ourselves. Sadly, there have been times of failure in my journey, but I forge ahead knowing that He is committed to me and my journey in Him..

Pleasantly surprised
I have never purchased a John Bevere book before. I've always been more partial to the Charles Stanley type of pastor. But while watching 100 Huntley Street this month (September 2019) I caught an interview with John Bevere promoting his new book God Where Are You. I was intrigued by the theme of the book which is aimed at people who feel God is distant, or has abandoned them or forgotten them. Enduring a wilderness experience of my own these last few years I liked what I heard during the interview so much I purchased the book. The book is full of really great insights of what I needed to know. I may never buy another John Bevere book again but I have no trouble giving this 5 stars.
