Practice Makes Perfect German Conversation (Practice Makes Perfect Series) Paperback – August 7, 2012

I just got this book. Like all Herr Swick's books this one is very well written. The examples are very timely and useful at learning more of the nuances in German language speaking. I got a better feel of daily conversation techniques. My only wish is that there will be a second edition with more conversational examples to review.

It is a good book to complement other self study publications by introducing the student to the vocabulary used in various, common and everyday interactions in German speaking countries. It would benefit most a student with some previous intermediate level exposure to German language studies. The total beginner would probably find it too difficult to handle, as there are no pronunciation clues and the grammatical reminders are minimal. I found it quite recommendable otherwise.

Learning a foreign language in one's 70's is not easy, I need all the help I can get and this does seem to deliver.

This book is an outstanding help for advanced students. There is no substitute for any kind of practice. Apparently, the whole series is excellent.

Excellent book to use as a supplement for studying a new language.

The workbook is definitely not for the beginner but if you accompany this book with other German language books or programs, etc, it's great for sentence structure and grammar rules. Practice truly does make perfect.

This workbook is very good. I know a lot of the words, but had trouble with conversations, at the beginning of the work I actually could put sentences together and in the right order. I am only part way through, but I have impressed myself as well as others!

These books are a perfect way of teaching German. My students love it. As the publisher offers many more editions to master the German language, I will buy many more in the future.

I purchased this book for learning everyday conversation, to my surprise, the book does not provide useful daily conversations. Also, the intensity of dialogues makes learning not so fun. The book can be interesting for someone who already has intermediate knowledge of German.

Il testo ha un'impostazione salda; esso parte da un contesto attuale della società tedesca per svilupparne le relazioni con un linguaggio semplice e vario che consente di individuare dei punti focali grammatico-sintattici tipici. Ho apprezzato il metodo di analisi del dialogo con le note e gli esercizi e penso si possa applicare in qualsiasi più ampia lettura in maniera personale.
