Great GPS for the price.
This GPS gets you where you need to go. No frills or gimmicks. Only thing...if you choose shortest distance, it will take you on the exit ramps on the interstates. Go with shortest time.

Big Screen, Nice Picture, Hard to see during daylight, Text to speech is poor
I purchased the R403 used as a replacement when a much older MIO C210 broke. It looked good on paper, and is in some areas. Some areas are a disappointment and clearly feel like a step down from my previous older and lower end unit. Here is a break down.Pros:- Large 4.3" screen... this is a good size for trips that require medium attention to the GPS.- Handles off route events very gracefully, much better than the old C210- Street names are spoken (the C210 did not have this)- Zooming is sticky, does not revet back to its programmed setting (good and bad)- Suction cup mount is easy to use (easier than old model)- Does not hang or crash like some models from competitors- Picks up a GPS signal quicklyCons:- Voice for text entry and driving directions is horrible and slow, a step down from the C210 voice (street names are technically more difficult to do well, but the voice quality for everything else has suffered)- Address entry menus are slow to respond, long lists are easily hidden and not intuitive to access- On screen icons have been over simplified to make them large- Zooming is buried in menus and requires more clicks to get to- Suction cup mount does not feel as secure as old model, does not stick well to cold windows- Mount does not hold unit tightly, so that it is difficult to ensure a touch is correctly registeredI might buy this again, used, but not new. It works, but is nothing to get excited about.

Mine was really cheap, and it works fine, though I'm annoyed by its limis
I liked my previous Mio GPS and was sad when it got filched from my dash while I sat nearby eating a burrito in a Tacobell. I bought this one because I expected it to be at least an improvement over the last one.I can't say it isn't. It has so many more points of interest, and a lot of preference controls that are nice and helpful. It's not perfectly intuitive when it comes to looking up addresses, but then again, I really really hate Garmin's garbage-based ideas of how to make things "user friendly" and even if this doesn't represent a huge improvement, I'm not exactly unhappy. The screen is hard to see under the exactly wrong conditions. There's no way of knowing your altitude. Bad.But it was cheap, and it works, and I've crossed the country with it, and I wouldn't think of going without it.

Great!
I bought this for my husband. Mio is the only brand GPS he will use. The larger screen is so much better. He says the Mio is easy to use and never leads him astray.

This GPS sucks. It has gotten me lost since day 1. It was a total waist of money. Wish I wouldn't gotten it. I never should have gone with the reviews

Ship problem
The product is ok,but it seems that you can't input the name of the destination directly.you can input the address instead. The thing I felt worst I was that I paid extra fee for expedited ship which should be delivered in 3 days, but I got the GPS after 5 days.and I can't use it in my trip,I feel very sorry about it.Mind other consumers to care about that.

Peice of mind in a box
This is going to give me piece of mind now that my son is off at college with his car. Sure he has GPS on his phone but, this way is much easier to see and he can keep both hands on the wheel. We haven't really tested it for accuracy yet but, if its even close it's better than not having one at all. The price was right.

Well thought out product. ( my second MIO ) very satisfied with the graphics and verbal call out of street names. For me it has certainly become a tool of the trade , since I'm constantly ferrying passengers to and from New York. Airports.
