Strongest of the flavors
I am always looking for plastic-free or plastic-reducing solutions for everyday life. I have been considering tooth tabs for over a year, but until now hadn't pulled the trigger. I have seen the big brands advertised online for a long time but didn't want to bite while dealing with a subscription-based service (who wants to deal with.. or can remember... to cancel if you don't like something!?). I then decided I would search Amazon and see what their available tooth tabs were.FIRST IMPRESSIONSOther than the fact that these arrived in the plastic bubble mailer (come on, Amazon - send these in a recyclable cardboard box please) I could not have been more excited when these arrived. I don't know that I've ever looked forward to brushing my teeth until the day these arrived! As someone who dislikes the feeling of typical toothpaste (why does it BURN ! so bad!) I was hoping these would be different... and let me tell you they absolutely deliver on that. The feeling is quite different - chewing the tablet, making sure NOT to swallow it, the flavor is different - but I enjoyed using this. My teeth still felt clean even though I found myself wondering... are they really clean? Only because the absent burning feeling paste gives you.PERFORMANCEAgain, because this is nothing like typical paste, the overall feeling is different. I have been using it for a few days now and do not notice any difference in how clean my teeth feel though. I don't notice any tartar buildup, no differences in how my gums look or feel. Because of the mild mint flavor, I am not sure if my breath is truly as fresh as it would be with paste. However according to the box these came in the tabs are supposed to be great for everything. I use a sonic toothbrush, and the foam is very fine to almost non-existent, so it is a very different experience. Because of that, I think in my mind I am not getting as good of a cleaning. I did notice that when I went out of town and just used my manual travel toothbrush, the foam was a lot more abundant, so perhaps something about sonic vibrations reduce the amount of foaming.NO FLUORIDE?I am not a person who particularly has feelings one way or another about fluoride. I know many people choose to avoid it. I am sure it is in my water source as well, and I really don't know if it is good or bad, but these are fluoride free. They do have xylitol, which seems to get a bad rep because it can be toxic to dogs but I have no dogs in my house so I don't have to worry about that. I did find myself thinking that if these were available in a version *with* fluoride, I would try them just to compare performance, but maybe it is better this way. A quick internet search on Xylitol says that it is claimed to balance saliva pH thereby fighting tooth decay. This sounds like a good ingredient to have in a tooth tab, if that is true!FLAVORI've now tried 3 of the flavors - vanilla mint, peppermint, and these cinnamon. Cinnamon is by far the strongest flavor. The flavor reminds me of those cinnamon gumball looking candy things that I can't recall the name of. It's really yummy and again hard to remember it's toothpaste don't swallow it haha!COMPARING TO REGULAR TOOTHPASTEI want to say that since I started using the tabs, I've used traditional toothpaste maybe 3 times. Firstly, it burns so bad that it makes me realize we just get used to that burning but it's so much worse when you're not used to it anymore. Secondly, I notice that when I use paste, my teeth feel like they are left with a powdery residue on them that doesn't exist when I use the tabs. So even though I don't think my breath is as fresh using the tabs, I feel my teeth are cleaner using the tabs.

So far I am loving these tabs!

Honestly... they taste SO good that I find it challenging not to swallow them like mint candies!

I like them
I first purchased these tabs in the vanilla flavor. I was hoping for a more minty-fresh experience but was worried about how strong it might be so that is why I started with vanilla. The peppermint is not offensive at all, and barely perceptible from the vanilla flavor.I still like these tabs and certainly feel that my teeth are being cleaned just the same as with toothpaste, my only worry is that my breath isn't being freshened anywhere near as much as with toothpaste. However I am committed to avoiding plastic wherever I can and perhaps I'll look into other ways to deal with that like a tongue scraper or plastic free mouthwash. I've never liked mouthwash because it burns so badly but if I have to use it in tandem with these I can probably get used to it.They don't foam nearly as much as regular tube toothpaste. I use a sonic toothbrush and if I brush a bit manually at first, it foams more than if you only use the sonic vibration. The packaging is plastic free, not shrinkwrapped in plastic. The little bags the product comes in are said to be compostable or biodegradable. The only thing is Amazon might ship them to you in a plastic mailer which defeats the purpose of plastic free.

Great for traveling
I just got back from a two week trip overseas and these tablets were great. No big bulky tooth paste tubes or multiple little tubes that run out quickly. I did place them in a clear little plastic dispenser (which was a case for gum at one time) which made use easier. You can take them in a carry-on (if they are easy to see) as they aren't liquid. Perhaps the manufacturer has a clear dispenser specifically designed for travel? I haven't checked. These are called a refill packet so perhaps there is one. The tablets are a little expensive but I found them worth it.
