Taste of Romania, Expanded Edition

What a delight! The moment I saw the book, I fell in love with the cover. So inviting! As a Romanian, I was very impressed with the quality of the book and the overall idea. As an author in my debut book, I follow the same principle. I wanted to share some of the most incredible things Romania hides from the world. Started with history, geography, and, last but not least, Romanian cuisine. But in his book, Mr. Nicoale went even further and introduced the world to Romanian folklore and some of the most popular proverbs. Making it informative and sprinkling it with authentic Romanian humor. I was fortunate enough to have a mother who was an excellent cook. I couldn't stop smiling when I found some recipes my mother and I used to cook together. The stuffed cabbage, the Romanian pancakes, or doughnuts filled with sour cherry jelly were some of our house's most popular recipes. Mr. Klepper introduces to the world some of the most prominent figures in Romanian history and culture., making this book a must to read for anyone interested in learning about Romania. Why don't you grab a copy of the book and try some of the most delicious recipes Mr. Klepper was so excited to share with the world? I promise it is worth it. I give you a tip: Romanian pancakes are to die for. My father was a difficult man, but I could always soften him with my delicious deserts on Sunday afternoons--my specialty.

I have learned a lot from this book about Romania its culture, history and cuisine. Looked forward to actually test some of the recipes.

I am Romanian and I got this book as a gift for an American friend. I was super impressed that they even have poetry inside, a bit of geography, history and very accurate recipes!

My boyfriend is Romanian. He is actually the first in his family to be born in the United States of America. Its weird how proud he is of his Romanian heritage, yet he can't seem to tell me anything about it. I just hope I don't end up being able to tell him more than he can tell me, because I've always been very interested in other cultures so I do a lot of research. We're planning a trip to Romania, I'm hoping he'll pop the question there in a really picturesque location. Nothing too fancy, but anyways. I bought this book because he tells me about how much he misses his mother's Romanian cooking and I would like to be able to cook him up something really awesome so that he'll want to keep me around for a while. I've only read into it a little bit. Haven't had much time for it yet, but I have found it pretty interesting so far. So if you find yourself in a similar situation... then consider it.

Not only has history lessons but great recipes

My husband is of Romanian background, and I thought it would be nice to have some recipes to remind him of his childhood. Not only did I find a book of delicious recipes, but I hit the jackpot when it came to learning more about the Romanian culture. The recipes I've tried have all been easy to follow and make, almost all with easy to find ingredients. I get loads of compliments from my husband and from our Romanian friends! The historical notes, anecdotes, and cultural information are interspersed within the sections of the recipe book, are easy to read, informative and entertaining. This has been a great addition to my cookbook collection!

The media could not be loaded.  This book is so detailed and full of wonderful history. These Romanian recipes have not disappointed! My husband loves this book!

Does not have that many recipes....non that my Romanian husband has tried or liked. There should be a better description about this book. It gives more the history of certain happenings in Romanian culture than anything else. Don't buy if you're looking for a Romanian cookbook!

Has delicious recipes loved the different dish variants throughout the book.Not only does it give you recipes but it also gives some fun little tidbits of information and fun poems.

Very good book containing a lot of great recipes. Only disadvantage is the lack of pictures.

No pictures, But I can tell you this is FAR AND AWAY the most authentic recipe book I've found for romanian food. If youre looking for a taste of home or to impress your in laws, get this book. This is really how romanians eat at holidays and every day dinners.
