October 2019: I purchased this portable defroster because the defroster in my Honda Odyssey no longer works.I like that you can remove this defroster from the base so that it doesn't have to be on my dash all day.I'm not sure if it would be suitable for super icy windshields.I'm in the south.It works great for chilly weather and during the rain. It heats up enough of the windshield that you can see to drive. It would take a while for it to work on a frozen windshield I think.The cord gets very, very hot. When my windshield is defrosted, I unplug the unit altogether.December 2019: the unit turns off after 3 seconds of being on.I discovered that the cord that connects to the plug is loose. If I hold the cord at the base of the plug, it will stay on.Very frustrating, now that it's icy windshield season.If it would stay on, it works affectively.I'm going to tape up the cord/plug this weekend to see if that fixes it. But I'm already shopping for a replacement.

Crappy, doesn't heat that much, since it didn't work for me I opened and I didn't see the hi tech protection circuit and all the abs they advertise, just a fan and a resistor, note It will heat up your cigar outlet, on crappier cars it may melt it, so be careful.

So I went on a road trip to colorado in the mountains and my windshield was iced over every morning and this cool little tool helped a lot with defrosting it every morning. It heats up super quick and works great. At some points my defrost didnt work and this thing saved the day.

I have an Audi A4 2009 and it heats in 20 min. So 20 min I'm sitting in a cold freezing car. This space heater is my life savior. It heats the car in less the a minute. I like that it's small so I can fit it in anywhere I want to. Not too loud. Perfect for a price. Blows gentle hot air.

I was going to use in a car that does not have a very good heater for a little extra heat. It ran for about 2 minutes and stopped. It never worked again!

Portable heater and fan . I’m using it on my work van Chevy express 2500 and it does the job .The power cord is about 6 feet can only be plug on the cigarette lighter。Has a switch for heat fan and off。Amazon did a great job and I received the item the next day after I ordered.
