Barfly M37101 Basics Cocktail Set, 5-Piece, Stainless Steel

There are a lot of bar kits on Amazon with more stuff for less money. This is worth the extra money however. This has only the items that everyone needs in order to make most cocktails and no extra garbage that most people won't need. It's very high quality and looks great. I love mine and use it a few times a week and it works perfectly. You don't need a 30 piece bar kit, this will do everything a normal person will want to make cocktails at home and won't clutter you place with a bunch of cheap niche items that you won't ever use.The Jigger has nice little graduations that let you easily control how much stuff you are pouring into the shaker, and the shaker itself seals very well. The strainer strains very easily and catches the pulp, and the spoon does spoon stuff.

Edit: I am leaving my original review below. After recieving another bad unit from Amazon I contacted Barfly by Mercer directly and they made it right. They said they are working to address the problems with the one shaker cup and the replacement they sent me has a much better feel to it. As I am writing this post I have used the kit a few times a week for about a month and I have had no other problems. The stainless is holding its shine well and hasn't discolored and the cups seal well. Overall great product and I am happy with the customer support I recieved.Everything looks and works great but I gave it 2 stars because of what seems like a manufacturing defect. The second time I washed the shakers (by hand) the bottom fell off the large one. I am going to try contacting the seller to see if I can get it replaced. It appears the large shaker was only spot welded in a couple of places and they just flaked off where the smaller shaker has a bead welded all the way around.

My husband loved the set. Good quality products and not a bunch of filler items like other sets.

I purchased the set that includes a shaker set, bar spoon, jigger, and strainer. Everything seems to be very high quality, but the strainer is far too small for the shaker cup, making it a bit more challenging to use. I'd love to return just the strainer, if that was possible.

I love this kit so much. Every thing about it screams quality and durability. I will be using this set for years to come.

My husband and I have recently started making cocktails at home, and this is our first basic set. Everything seems very durable and works well so far.I purchased a second shaker and jigger so we can make more than one cocktail before needing to do the dishes. They are both barfly brand as well, but not the same items in this set. The second shaker set has a much thicker/heavier base, and the jigger is not the Japanese style that comes in this set. I prefer the other style jigger over the Japenese style, but they both get the job done- just personal preference.I'll update my review once we've used the set more to comment on durability, etc.

I've been using this for a month or 2 now and I'm very pleased.The set is not made from cheap flimsy metal like some other sets I bought years ago and threw away. The shaker tins have taken a beating and don't show it.The Hawthorne strainer has a much tighter coil than the cheap strainers and 99% of the time I don't need to double strain.I've been cracking ice blocks with the spoon and it shows no sign of bending or breaking.This set definitely seems like it's going to live up to the adage of "buy once, cry once". Spend the money one time for a quality set like this. It's going to last me for years.
