Super tiny heater for frost protection or a very small area
This is a really well made little product. I bought the smallest (60w). It is only meant for jobs such as keeping tiny areas frost free, which it does well. The adjustable thermostat is brilliant. The heater keeps our tiny back porch frost free. With the stat set at the lowest, it comes on just to stop the temperature falling to zero. My cat is very happy that I got it as she sleeps there. It was delivered very quickly and was well packed. It has a fitted plug and the fuse is 3amps (much safer than a 13amp fuse being left in). Superbly there is also a well written instruction sheet in faultless plain English. It came with brackets, screws and fixings. So what is the cost of operating this little gem? 60 watts is 60/1000 of a kw. (0.06kw). So if it was on 24hrs a day with the thermostat turned up full (so it never cut out), it would use 24x 0.06kw which is 1.44kw. The current average price for electrity (Nov 23) is 27p, so the cost would be 27p x 1,44 which is 39p.More typically, you might use it all night with the thermostat tripping on about half the time, which would cost you 10p (ish).Remember it is very small and designed for a very small area or just preventing frost in larger areas. So for even the smallest greenhouse you would need something bigger; 2ft or 3ft say. These would increase the cost by 2 times for a 2ft and 3 times for a 3 ft and so on.It is important to remember that they get very hot so you must keep them away from anything combustible like a wooden shelf. For the 60w model the instruction book gives the minimum distance behind and below the tube as 30mm but the minimum space above must be 200mm.Also, of course, you must ensure that no person or animal could accidentally touch it; so a guard is a good idea.

Great for boat engine bay
This tube heater is great for our boat to prevent freezing so we can continue to use it over winter. The thermostat is great as it will cut out when the desired temperature is reached to say on energy costs. It’s light weight and easy to install. Gives off good heat too

Seems to do the trick
Bought to warm my van in a night. As has been mentioned it only draws 54W at max then cuts off and draws 1W for a while, over half the time in fact. My 720W/H battery would manage over 20 hours at that.Made a little base to reflect heat and it does work. Not exactly toasty but better than freezing. If I could go back I'd order one twice the size, though.

Great product; accurate & efficient
Tube is easy to fit to the wall, the safety cage fits neatly over the top of it, ensuring no accidental burns and the digital thermostat is accurate and ensures even temperature is maintained in a very energy-efficient manner. Great stuff!

Not as useful as claimed.
Intended to be used to warm a housing for a 3d printer, 60 watts should be enough, but it isn't.It barely warms the air around it, though it is warm to the touch at a fully opened thermostat settingIt hasn't raised the temperature in a 40cm x 40cm x 66 cm enclosed area by more than 1 degree in over 90 minutes.Looks like I'm not the only person to receive one that doesn't radiate heat.I ordered on 5th and it was delivered on 15th, not what I hoped a Prime delivery would be.Maybe they need to use a better courier service.Going to have to find a different solution.Refunded but not all the money, kept p&p from price I paid.

Excellent for specific uses like outbuildings
I have a number of these heaters used in outbuildings and also to heat outside walls to stop frost. I was surprised when this one arrived as though it had a digital display. It also came with a plug-in thermostat. The thermostat actually a brilliant idea because it means you can plug it in and have it measure temperature away away from a heater which typically you locate down their floor level. The only downside is the cable between the heater and the plug is rather short around a meter and therefore you might need to use an extension in some circumstances. The digital controls on the heater allow you to set on off times or set the length of time to stay on for For us to shed that gets rather cold I’ve sent mine so it comes on for an hour then turns off for an hour and just cycles continuously all the time. The thermostat is in deciding whether or not the heater gets turned on at all. The heater has its own memory built-in, so that when the plug cuts the power and then reapplies it the heater remembers to go into the mode. I would never use one of these without a guard, which can be very expensive, it bought separately, and I find the guards real pain to put where you want to put the heater. Therefore, when I’ve done it take the guard and using a hammer bend down, so it’s the same plane as the side of the guard, the little piece that you screw down to the wood , in this way, you’ll find a short length of board, a piece of decking is ideal, can be used to mount the heater on, and then to attach the guard by screwing its edges to the edge of the piece of board as shown in the photo here this makes it far easier to mount it where you want it, and prevent anything from getting behind the guard. You’ll notice in the photo I have this set up of the guard is on the side as it were. I find this works really well and doesn’t cause any issues. Please be advised though these are low power therefore cheap to run they do get hot. Awhile ago, I had one set under desk to stop my feet from freezing while working and then discovered they had heated the plastic soles of my shoes and created ridges in them. Low power doesn’t mean cool. There are many brands on the market, but effectively they’re all the same, but I’ve used this one a few times before and I’m quite pleased with the price the package with the thermostat and the quality of the guy that comes with it highly recommended.

Very low heat output - not effective
We bought this to keep a small kids play house (which has our rabbit hutch in) above freezing by setting it at 6C. The temperature outside was about -2 and inside it dropped down to 0c which was no better than when it was not installed. This is a small pace and I think a light bulb gives out more heat. Build quality looks good enough but other than for warming your hands I can think of a use for it.
