Blast from the past
I’m so happy I got TMNT from the 80-90 cartoon show, I grow up watching it as a kid on Saturday mornings and I wanted my kids to enjoy it just as much as I did!

Some Nostalgia at a reasonable price
This is the first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon with all the episodes in one collection. It was interesting to see how the Indie comic book was adapted to the younger audience of the mid 80's early 90's children demographic. Watching again will an adult mindset can be a conflicting experience, on one hand the animation budget, formulaic plots, product pushing and goofy characters can make me feel silly remembering how much importance I put into this show but I can still enjoy the imagination and light-heart nature it had. It is nice to see how this show put in some of the staples of the TMNT media.

It is a great conversation starter and the van looks pretty cool
Turtle fans... You need this...It includes all 10 seasons of the 80's and 90's TMNT tv series along with episodes that somehow got forgotten about on many of the individual season's on DVD.It is a great conversation starter and the van looks pretty cool.I really only have three complaints and two are kind of nit picks from me.-The roof of the van doesn't snap into place. Instead it sits on top of the van, waiting to get knocked off by pets or by picking the van up.-The box set comes with a detailed episode list, but there really isn't a good place to store it. This is only annoying because it's nice to have the episode list if you don't want to watch every season from start to finish, i.e. if you want to watch episodes with The Rat King, or Casey Jones you can see which episodes they are in and select the proper disc to watch what you want to watch.-The disks just sit in cut out trays basically. I'm sure there is a better way to explain the way the display is designed, but really this annoys me because if the van falls over then the discs will fall out. Unlike a conventional DVD case, the discs in this box set don't have a slot that they can actually snap into.

Let me be nerdy and over review this
**this is a review of the physical release, not the show itself**"Pale Ale" wrote a very good review detailing the episode order issue, so I wont repeat that in this review.Cover art: 2.5/5 It's a little bland. The back cover isn't much different from the front; purple with some stock image art of the turtles, and overall rather bland, but with all the usual dvd information. And no reverse cover. But it's serviceableDisc art: 3.5/5 I was a little confused at first by the order of the disc art, as they seemed to reuse art at random, until I understood that each season has a particular disc art. So for example discs 1 and 2 have different art from each other, then 3-6 or whatever shares the same art of Donatello, and I quite like this detail. The disc art itself is.. fine, as seen in other review images. The collection reuses the same 2-3 drawn images of the turtles throughout their disc art and their menus. Segway to-Menus: 4/5 The first few discs are bare bones. One graphic, no music. And the episode select menus are atrocious, with two episodes per page, requiring you to flick through multiple pages for ages if you want to get to a later episode on a disc. I feel like there was one small team working on these discs in order as there seemed to be some progression throughout each new menu. Eventually on episode select they use 4ish episodes per page which is much more palatable. And, upon season 3, menus now have some amount of motion, and the theme song playing in the background. Some menus even have transition clips from the main menu to the episode select, which is a fun little detail. Each season has a different menu, much like the disc art, though a different disc's menu may have a different colour to the previous menu. Some menus are better than others, but overall pretty decent. There's some cute ideas put in here. One season had a pizza menu theme, which was a really charming idea (not great in practice, as the words were a little hard to see, and very busy visually since there's other words around the page for the pizza menu items, but I appreciated the thought regardless). You can tell effort was put into (most of) these menus.Disc case: 3/5 a little bulky. Doesn't sit in line with other dvd cases but that may just be the product of having to hold a ridiculous amount of discs on one case. But it holds together quite well--as in it isn't loose when opening and closing, though maybe even a little too rigid when trying to open. I need to use a bit of effort to pry the case open. I would be careful opening and flicking through the discs as not to let some of the disc flaps scratch each other.Due to having so many discs, each disc slot is doubled up with two disks per button. It bothers me a little but it saves space. Now the buttons.. are not really push buttons, rather hooks that keep a hold of them, meaning rather than a push and release, you will have to just pull the discs out. They do hold onto your discs quite well, but some of them hold onto the discs a little too vigorously. I got quite worried trying to pull a disc out that just refused to budge, and worried I'd break the disc with how much I was bending it. Most of them weren't a problem though.Other features: (bonus features) 4/5 I really liked the selection of bonus features on these discs. However, the bonus features are spread out, and as far as I'm aware, there's no indication with which discs have bonus features unless you check. Disc 1 has a few duplicated episodes of the final season on there, which I think would have been much better spent putting most of the bonus features on here to utilize the extra space on the disc left over from the short season 1. But then again, these discs look like they were created over the course of a few years, and interviews were retrieved during that time as well, but still. It would have been nice. Or at least say on the disc if bonus features are included on it.(Subtitles) There are none, as far as I could tell.(ads and logos) 30ish seconds of unskippable piracy warnings and logos. These discs also include a few ads (all skippable, don't worry), usually the same set of ads for each season. Sometimes they would reuse an ad from another season as well (e.g season 5 discs might have one ad that's also on season 7 discs.) Most of these ads are inline with possible interests of people watching the tmnt show. Mostly animated, or about super heros. There were a few adds for the avengers animated movies, which I didn't even know existed, so that was fun. There were a couple times were you got ads to buy... the tmnt 87 dvds. Like... yeah I know. I'm watching it right now. So, that was amusing lol. Though there was one ad for... a live action documentary about some race car driver guy? That one didn't seem like it fit with the lineup. With all this plus the episode order problem, I kind of want to rate this 3 stars, since I can't rate 3.5, but overall, there was effort put into these discs, and it's a fairly charming experience from the discs to the ads, to the menus, all for a cartoon series that's 35 years old. It has more love put into it than a lot of other physical releases I own. It's not perfect. But it's pretty solid, as far as physical releases go.Thank you for letting me nerdy. Cowabunga.
