Three months later…
We bought two for new home in the mountains. Both meters work like they should. The only issue is the digital numbers starting to blank out. Not a battery issue. A screen issue.

If suspect you have Radon in your house this is the way to find out!!
We were told we have radon gas in the house and it's suspected to cause cancer. We got the radon detector and wow do we. At ten times the safe level!! We installed a radon gas removal product and watched the numbers fall to near zero in less than a week!!

What we needed
Did a mail in test, ordered this to compare. Tests around the same, now to act & this will let us know if the system is working. Can move this around & test different areas, also.

Not bad
Works great. I do wish there was an affordable one that you can carry with out when looking for a new house that can read on the spot. This take 24 hrs for first reading and needs at least 3 days for a good reading. But I like it

Simplest set up
Very easy to set up. Just remove battery tab and away you go. So far appears accurate - compared to what official state test indicated. Simple and easy navigation for information

A great monitor. 👍
A great monitor but it would be nice if it came with a stand if you intend to move it periodically.

Good meter, is consistent with a Safety Siren Pro Series 3
I am reviewing this product after having it run for ~4 weeks side-by-side with another meter. Since radon levels fluctuate so much on a daily basis it was important to give it some run time before assessing its behaviour. I have a 10 year old Safety Siren Pro Series 3 I have used continuously since new. Given its age I wanted to replace the meter although it still works fine. I like the AirThings meter in that it has a 1 day average in addition to the 7 day and long term averages. The AirThings meter has a visual indicator flashing dashes on the display that shrinks showing that it is getting closer to showing results. This is only important when the unit is freshly reset. For someone who is new to measuring radon and anxious for results, this wait can seem interminable. It seemed to be quite at odds with my current meter for a few days but after that fell more or less in line with its results.Overall I would say the meters are roughly withing 15% of each other with the AirThings being usually lower in reading. For anyone measuring radon value, the 1 week vs the 1 day average give you a really good indicator of levels rising and falling. Only having a 7 day and long term average on the Safety Siren is less informative. In my case the meter is in my finished basement at table level. If I open the windows, I can see the levels drop on the 1 day average in a few hours rather than trying to out-guess what the 7 day average is doing.I have 10+ years of results in my home, and I strongly recommend people keep the meter running all the time and you will find seasonal variations that are large. Even a 1 month measurement is not fully informative. In my case my house average 119 Bq/m^3 year around, but in the Spring and in the Fall I can have 1-2 weeks with levels shooting up to 200. Many 4 week periods would completely miss this spike.I will keep watch on the 2 meters together over time to continue assessing them. The AirThings unit is half the price of the Safety Siren and so far I would recommend it.

Well worth the money
Lots of talk regarding radon these days, especially in Canada. Having purchased this unit, I don’t have to worry about hiring a contractor ($). Can use it anytime, any place (eg. family, friends). Very easy to use and from I read, it is accurate. Have not had it long enough to judge battery life. There is no on/off switch but since this appears to be a quality product, the manufacturer must have had a good reason to omit it. Would recommend this product for piece of mind. There does appear to be some discrepancy between the safe/unsafe levels between gov’t. sources and what the mana. suggests.

Read the instructions
We used the radon detector to test for radon on the living levels of our home. Living room and bedroom. Our levels were above the recommended levels so we installed a radon fan in the existing piping and the radon tester showed the levels dropping done to under recommended levels. We have Lea e of mind the radon levels in our home are acceptable.

Seems to be ok
My neighbor let me use his tester to test our house in SW Ontario. Got readings in the 300"s. Went and bought this unit to run side by side with my neighbors. The readings on the new unit were almost always about 10 Bq/m3 lower than his units readings but still on the high side way over the 100 Bq/m3 max recommended. There seems to be two schools of thought about radon but went and purchased a mitigation system anyway to see if the readings will go down. Will see what happens.

I have been using this for more than 6 days, but it still shows " 1 DAY".i received it on NOV/29,and now it's DEC/5. the number changed everyday. I just don't understand why it keeps showing 1 day, Isn't it six days?It makes me wonder if these values are really accurate?
