Great brush!
This brush replaced a boar bristle brush that finally broke. Man, what a difference11The badger bristles do react differently to water and soap as compared to boar bristles. They efficiently absorb water and the soap lathers very quickly. The bristles themselves can be felt on the skin more than the boar bristles, but its very pleasant. It does feel like its exfoliating the skin while distributing the soap lather. The result is one's beard becomes quickly compliant to shave with minimal pull. The bristles also clean very easily. I lightly dry the bristles on a towel and the brush feathers out for better drying. I also use less soap as a result of changing to this brush. The brush construction itself is well balanced. The brush feels substantial without undue weight. The nickel chrome finish looks like 18/10 stainless steel. It is a high quality finish. The faux ivory itself gives the brush a sense of refinement without over indulgence. I highly recommend this brush to one who is looking for a new shave brush and/or to one who is considering to switching to brush and shave soap. Based upon the quality of this brush, I am looking forward to other Slate Shave products!

pretty disappointing
The brush preformed quite well. I was pretty disappointed when the knot fell out of the handle after about two weeks of use. I may have a different definition of hot versus warm water than the manufacturer, I am quite conscious of the fact that very hot water can melt the glue that holds the knot. I was pretty disappointed and surprised when it came out because I liked the way it performed.

Falling bristles and falling out!
This is the 5th shaving brush I have purchased from you. I would not have ordered this last brush, if I knew at the time of order what problems I was about to encounter. Please note, at one period of my life I was was a barber. A barber that actually gave shaves on a regular basis. Poeple are always asking me about how they can get a better shave. I always tell them to start by using a good brush and mug. On day I was feeling rather philanthropic and decided to purchase your brushes, along with other shaving aids, for four poeple including myself, and now I have purchase a fifth brush as a gift. I thought I had done my research. I was particularly concerned about shedding bristles and brushes coming apart. All are problems I have encountered in the past with other brush manufactures. Mind you, I know about the proper care of a brush. Well, it finally happened. My brush has been loosing bristles daily and finally the entire bunch of bristle fell out of the handle. I also have been told by one of my gift recipients that his bundle fell out of its handle. I'm afraid to ask the rest if they have had the same problem. The bottom line is I'm very dissapointed.

Love it
Very nice. Holds water well, whips up a good lather and soft. Be sure to rinse thoroughly after use--those same qualities that hold moisture also hold the cream unless you rinse it well. Otherwise, you'll have a stiff brush the next morning.

Better brushes can be found for the price.
Not a bad brush but not a great one either. The knot feels more like best badger than Silvertip. The handle, although hefty in weight is very tiny for my hands. This one is going to the wife as she likes it.

One of the BEST brushes, in the world.
I've mostly given up writing "reviews" for Amazon... if you say something they don't agree with, refuse to promote a product they're sponsoring or down-rate the quality of a product, they simply refuse to post your review... However - I AM taking the time to "review" this shaving brush, and quality of the product. Background: I've been "wet-shaving" since I was 15, though we just called it shaving back then... and over the past 3 years, I've been teaching myself to shave with a straight razor. I've become comfortable and familiar with a WIDE variety of blades, brushes, soaps, lathers and other instruments of the craft. That being said, if I could give this brush 10 out of 5 stars, I would. I own MANY brushes... some costing into the hundreds of dollars - but I don't own another brush that I love as much as this one, that works or feels better or even as good, as this one. Slate... has produced a product that is WELL BEYOND EXPECTATION, and you will not be unhappy if you try this brush.

Watch what you get sent. I ordered the Silvertip ...
Watch what you get sent. I ordered the Silvertip and got sent the normal pure badger one in faux rosewood. I didn't know there was a difference in brush quality due to inexperience. If I knew, I would have asked for a replacement, but I only figured it out after 6 months. Having said that, quality of the brush for the pure badger one is pretty good. Very little shedding even after 6 months.

Meh.
I bought this for my husband for his birthday. After a month of use, the knot fell off from the handle. I had expected much better quality than this. It's quite embarrassing for a gift to fall apart!
