DO NOT BUY FOR YOUR SAFETY!!! IGNORE OTHER REVIEWS!!!!
i purchased this item on April 29, 2019after i received the item i left it in my garage for approximately 3 months for when i need it, later i used it only 3 times on light wood work to install some furniture, everytime i used it was getting heated and i saw smoke coming out, i thought it was fine since it was doing its job.later after one more month (specifically on my fourth use of this junk), it broke on use and fired its inside plastic pieces out like bullets, one piece passed by my foot making two cuts as seen in the picture, i bleed out like hell before taking the picture, the other plastic piece passed by my sister but thank god it missed it.NOT JUST THAT! after it projected its plastic pieces the power button was stuck for some reason i had to run and unplug the cable while i was bleeding! AWFUL EXPERIENCE !FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY GO BUY SOMETHING ELSE THAT DOESN'T FIRE PLASTIC BULLETS AT YOU!!Edit:after contacting customer service it appears i received a defective item, they were great helping me through this issue, it is the only reason i am giving it 5 stars

Ignore Reviews That Tell you to Ignore Reviews
Every review here is a reflection of each individual experience. Not only should you NOT ignore ANY review - good or bad - but instead, you should actively read ALL the reviews and make your own decision. It has been my experience that a lot of negative reviews can be attributed to operator error.Having said that, from my own personal experience with this impact drill, I would recommend it. Granted, I don't have a lot of experience with these types of drills - this is my first impact drill ever - but I do have decades of experience with power tools in general. I am not using this commercially. I just needed something to drill into the concrete walls of my shop so I could attach tapcon screws for some shelving. For that purpose, the drill worked great. I drilled probably fifty holes or so the day I got this and not once did the drill smoke, overheat or fly apart. It drilled the holes way faster than I had anticipated and I now have shelves in my shop. The only issue I had is so minor, it's almost not worth mentioning, but in the spirit of full disclosure, the depth gauge that comes with this is plastic. The first time the drill went through a shallow spot in the wall, the gauge slammed in to the wall and snapped. Meh...It's a $30 impact drill. We're not talking Dewalt or Milwaukee tools here. But for that price, unless you are using this commercially day in and day out all day long, you can't go wrong. And honestly, I can't say that I wouldn't use it commercially. Take all reviews with a grain of salt - this one included.

Burned up after first use
I kinda feel bad for the poor review because the seller was great and let me return after 30 day period or whatever it was. However the first time I used it right away it started smoking and burned up. It feels cheaply made as well

Great for the price
Great for the price. I was a little worried when it arrived and said "Impact drill" on the box, with no mention of hammer drill, given that I specifically bought it to use on brick. However, despite the wording it is in fact a hammer drill, and it works great. There's a switch at the top to change it from drill to hammer mode, and the depth setter is helpful. I only used it for 4 holes in brick, but it worked beautifully and seems like a quality build that will last for a long time. The only downside I see is the chuck system for bit changes - that system was replaced about 30 years ago for more convenient changes by most big brand drill cos - a minor inconvenience.

Good inexpensive hammer drill, NOT variable speed
Model 57325 works great for drilling holes in concrete, which is why I bought it. I had to deduct a star only because there is a misleading part in the description that says "The GALAX PRO corded drill’s speed control trigger allows the user to vary the motor speed from zero to maximum using the trigger switch. More pressure you give, more cutting speed it has." That statement is NOT TRUE, a label on the box even says "GALAX PRO 4.5A Single Speed Hammer Drill. For my purpose that is not a problem, I have a good variable speed drill, and a variable speed drill is often what is needed. So, the hammer drill is great, the description should be corrected. Also, since I am writing, the unit I received had obviously been returned and reshipped to me. The previously opened, now empty, protective bags were loose in the box along with the shipping label to the former customer! The plastic depth gauge was broken in the box, but that is not something I would use anyway (a piece of tape on the bit is more accurate). They should take more care before reshipping an item that has been returned.

Emergency Disposable
Used it one time for 5 minutes to bore a hole through the side of a shipping container and it started smoking on the first hole of 3... I also had to tighten the bit at least 6 times during the process. I would not have rated the drill so poorly had I not already drilled 15 holes in the same container with an old Black & Decker cordless 7 year old beaten and battered drill prior, it still runs lol... Not impressed and don't see it lasting more than a job or two. Great disposable emergency drill I guess...
