FUTURISTIX CASSETTE TO MP3 CONVERTER USB POWERED

If you have any Tapes with unforgettable memories then this will bring them back to life. I got this to back up my old tape collection and worried of loosing them they now live on CD and as MP3 on my HDD.Some artists music are no longer available as they have been discontinued or just did not make it as artists. If your like me and have a collection of tapes of artists and bands that were fantastic but now lost in history then this little tape to MP3 is just the job.The software that comes with this is very basic but gets the raw audio off the tape and saved to your HDD. From there you can use audio cleaning software. I used Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 10 Deluxe this works with FUTURISTIX CASSETTE if you fined the software that come with it to basic. I have an XP and windows 7 system and it works fine on both but you will need the newer Magix audio cleening labs software for windows 7 there are deals to be had so check this out. FUTURISTIX CASSETTE Tape to MP3 £22.99 with audio cleaning software for £4.99 XP only. Absolutely Brilliant the quality of the tape deck is good, chrome plastic and black rubberized finish. The buttons and operation remind me of the 1st Sony Walkman tape decks when they came out. Some may think its a bit clonkey but its how all portable tape deck use to be. Its a good product well worth the money. All audio is through the USB no other cables needed.

This is a great little machine,just what i required.Easy to set up and use,but i find it better to record using separate wave recorder,you don't need to use the software that comes with it. Wont read chrome or hi position cassettes, but well worth the price.

Well I bought this a few months ago for converting all those old cassettes that have been taking up space in the back of the cupboard..Unfortunately due to other demands on my time, I didn't have a chance to use it until last weekend... WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Tried it on my Mac and apart from the fact that the software comes on a mini disc and had to be copied via my Windows laptop, the Mac wouldn't detect the little tape player at all!So I tried it out on the Windows laptop.. BUT... Although I heard an audible signal suggesting that it had been detected and a 'dowloading drivers' msg appeared; It still didn't show up on the laptop even when I checked all connected hardware. The tape audio output wasn't detectable either; I checked all the input sound hardware to find out. (All this after over an hour of fiddling... Arrgghh!)It's now far to late to return this now useless piece of plastic so I put it down to experience and thought I'd try a different make, and ordered the following from AMAZON  ION TAPE EXPRESS TAPE-TO-MP3 USB RECORDER  When it arrived earlier today my heart sank... same box just different company logo.. AND same little tape player (with different plastic bits stuck on!) Oo-er... Then I had to download the (different) software from the company website as, though it stated that the enclosed CD had the MAC version on it... it didn't!!! (Why am I not surprised?) Anyway... long story short... This one worked IMMEDIATELY on both the iMac AND the Windows laptop and the quality is pretty good too! So... avoid the FUTURSTIX version and go straight for the ION!!! (similar prices same gadget but the latter one actually works!!)It's true that the latter uses software which piggybacks on iTunes as other reviewers state, but if you 'GET INFO' for the track (right click it) you can find out where iTunes has saved it and copy/move/convert it as you wish!!ps In case you're wondering.. Yes, I did try the Futuristix version with the new software for the Ion.... NO, it STILL didn't work!!!

Like first review I too have been looking for a simple casette converter but after reading other product reviews decided against until this one. I decided to give it a go after reading J Palmer review and very pleased I did. Software Installed on a Vista Laptop no problem. Instructions not too good as input control for recording is also the volume control but once I became aware no problem.I thought the levels were fixed on unit and adjusted on computer. So far have Copied 3 45min audio recordings no problem. Lets hope it proves reliable as have lots of tapes.

I bought this item in 2010.Back then I had a computer which ran Vista and I had to use my headphones in order to hear what I was recording and the sound recorder on the pc as the included software did not work.Today I have plugged in the device to my brand new computer which I bought New Year's Eve and I still can't get any sound out. Again I have used the sound recorder as the software does not work on my new computer either.I assume I have to buy a microphone in order to hear anything?

I had to return the first cassette player, sound quality was very poor. The second player arrived, sound was better but what lets this player down is the software used is a freebee. Although very good, it does not enable you to filter unwanted sound from the recording.

An excellent product and after a couple of false starts I have managed to record cassettes on to CD/DVD easily.If putting batteries into the product make sure they are fully charged as the machine runs off them even when plugged into a computor.

Copied lots of tapes to cd and found the software easy to use my tape conversion is now complete .
