Funko POP Movies : Hobbit 3 Smaug 6" Pop Action Figure (Colors May Vary)

Well made, looks good

I have a SIGNIFICANT "dragon in plastic" collection so I felt I would be remiss if I did not get Smaug in whatever presentation was available at a reasonable price. Well this Funko, and the one for Deathwing, assuredly meet my desire.They are both oversized (6" tall, thank goodness!) and well modeled. This one assuredly puts to shame the travesty the licensees for "The Hobbit" figures put to offer ( which is nothing short of a joke, one I refuse to entertain).I normally keep my dragons boxed ( mostly for dust control, I'll never sell) but my daughter pleaded for me to open this one as he is so dang "CUTE". Well, one doesn't usually associate psychotic, homicidal dragon with "cute" but so be it. So when he is not being cuddled in my daughter's bed, he sits on shelf and commiserates with Deathwing on how best to destroy the world.Enjoy!

I was weary at making this purchase at first because of the "Colors May Vary" part of the product title. I took a chance and bought one and to my surprise got the Smaug with the colored eyes! I was ecstatic and decided to purchase another one. To my great surprise I got the Smaug with the black eyes! I got both of the colored eye types and both were shipped faster than expected. They are larger than the normal sized pop figures and are well crafted and painted. Although the black colored eyed Smaug did have a paint smear across the eye he is still perfect to me!DO NOTE - Even though I was able to get both colored eyed Smaugs does not mean you might be able to also. It was chance and luck that I was able to make two separate purchases and get the two. If you do the same there is no guarantee that you will get both also. Just an FYI for your help.

He's big, he's bad, he's super detailed-- I love this dragon!! I'm not normally crazy about the style of funko pops (their featureless eyes and oversized heads are kind of weird, imo) but they do creatures/monsters really well!! He's really hefty and bigger than I was expecting, but still looks great on my toy/collectibles shelf. I'm going to have to rethink my reluctant stance on funko pops. I might be getting a few more dragons and other monsters from them in the future!

This is another one of my favorite POPs. My personal collection is now around forty five or so, with maybe eight of them being the large size. Recently, I've been collecting the larger dragons in particular, including this one from Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit, but also the Song of Ice and Fire dragons, the Skyrim dragon and my favorite POP of all time, Deathwing from World of Warcraft. Together, they sit behind my keyboard and guard my realm form invaders. And eat them, obviously.This particular POP has a few pretty great features, but also a few negatives that kind of irked me, as well. On the plus side, the dragon is large and in charge, with a unique shape and stance compared to other POPs. It's not as big as Deathwing (World of Warcraft), but to be fair I'm reasonably sure that's the biggest single POP to date. The detail is fantastic, including the "missing" scale on his chest, which is hard to see in the photos here but is quite eye-catching in person. A great detail directly from the pages of the Hobbit, and one of those tiny things that Funco adds that reminds you they aren't just mindlessly pumping out crap. It's also quite three-dimensional, and has lots of little features and edges to it.However, it would be a disservice to not mention my two major gripes with this POP. First, the eyes. They're big, black, and that's about it. Especially given the beautiful CG of the Hobbit movies, where we can plainly see the beautiful work the animators did on Smaug's eyes, one would think that Funco would have put some more work into it. The other, more troubling, issue is that the body appears to have been constructed not as a single piece, but as four to five large plastic pieces attached to a main body. The problem comes that they're not really attached all that fluidly, leaving strange lines and gaps where certain seemingly "attached" pieces feel like they were just glued on. It really is the biggest negative of this POP.Overall, this was a necessary and welcome addition to my dragon POP collection,but the detail and craftsmanship on this one really doesn't stand up to the Deathwing (World of Warcraft) figurine, nor the Anduin (Skyrim) POP.

If you are on the hunt for a beautiful Pop figure, look no further. The details of this product are outstanding, sitting at 6" tall it is a beauty for annoy fellow collectors. I could not believe the f quality I received from this seller, and how beautiful the product itself was crafted. It even has the missing smug scale removed from the paint. Although I was hoping to get the one with yellow eyes, I am happy none the less. I will repurchase from this sell again, and also purchase similar products in regards to this line.Also in comparison to other sellers with this product, I paid $15 after shipping, when some sellers have it listed as $300

Came in great condition and was shipped fast. I got the chase eyes version, which was a great surprise. I was expecting just the normal eyed one so that made my day =)

La figura tiene muy buenos y excelentes detalles, la pintura esta muy bien lograda y el diseño esta perfecto... por otro lado en mi caso me llego la edición con los ojos amarillos por lo que se ve aun mejor; también hay que añadir que el proceso de compra/venta por parte de AMAZON fue como siempre de lo mejor al igual que el proceso de envió por parte de la paquetera

No tengo muchas figuritas aún, pero de las que tengo esta se lleva la palma sin duda alguna. Impresionante tamaño, detalles y calidad. 5/5 super recomendada.

However Smaugs weakness has been nicely painted onto his belly where the arrow grazed him. Very nicely detailed, heavy and The largest pop I own. He towers over poor ludo. He makes for a impressive display piece. I was slightly disappointed with the packaging as the box was too small causing damage to the box but as iv decided to display oob anyway I wasn't overly concerned especially as I was lucky enough to receive the chase version! Bargain price too. Highly recommend getting this whilst still relatively affordable. I really want the hot topic golden version now
