Quality product and fast shipping
I bought the frets for an antique Italian mandola that is about a hundred years old. I am not a luthier but as an amateur player I have gained some experience with this type of instrument over the years. I've recently started doing some minor repairs and tweaks to my instruments myself.I started getting good results (like the right note and low string action) of the repairs. That's why I've decided to restore by myself that a very damaged mandola that I found in the antique shop. The width of the frets is very close to the original frets of the instrument. Placing them on a new ebony fingerboard was pretty easy. I was able to do all this in home conditions and with limited tools. I like the product and recommend it. Greetings to all who are in love with music and musical instruments. Best wishes.

Perfect
I got this to refret a 1912 Gibson mandolin. The tang is a little longer than the original. It worked great after I deepened the grooves a tad. Nice and hard material. It should do well. I had very little waste. In the end, I can see why people charge 300-400$ to refret an instrument. It's a lot of work.

Nice Fret Material.
Nice fret material. These are 8" lengths, so allow for some waste.

Just fine for my friend
I didn't buy this for myself. I bought them for a friend who didn't have an account. I did ask him if they worked out for him. He said they were just fine. Just in case you would like to know what they were used for I am about to tell you. He had made 2 cigar box 4 string instruments. Probably kinda like a tenor banjo. He needed some fret bars and I helped him get them. I told him how to open an account and he said he planned to do so.

Great fret wire (but with a caveat)
The fret wires are great and the shipping was exceptionally prompt! While they install beautifully I feel I should warn others that they are made from a rather soft metal. Great care should be taken to use only soft (rubber) hammers or mallets (and light weight ones at thaat) to install them.

My First Fret Wire
I am new to making instruments. I started with a two string canjo, and I wanted to do it right. This fret wire is of excellent quality for a novice. I practiced setting frets on scrap wood, and had no problem when I set this wire into my finish neck. I will no doubt be purchasing more material from C B Gitty when I start on my four string guitar. There was a small instruction sheet with the fret wire that is helpful.

Impressive value and quality
Plenty of wire. Great quality and worked well for a 60's Japanese Lindell mandolin I refretted.
