Bike Handlebars Pulling Your Upper Body Too Far Forward? Seat Killing You?
My seat was killing my perineal area. In trying to figure out why, I was able to tease out that my handlebars were set such that they made me lean forward. That leaning forward, forced my perineal area into an uncomfortable positioned onto my seat. With the style of handlebars on my Giant Commuter bike, there was no way to change/adjust the handlebar position. I did a lot of research and located this adjustable post. I switched out the old handlebar post (a SIMPLE procedure) for this one, set the angles I needed and it is PERFECT for me now. Much less expensive than a new bike and it works very well. I am no longer leaning into the handlebars. That was VERY painful. The only concern with any part that is adjustable, moveable and handles the total steering of a bike, plus handles your full weight against it, is to make certain EVERY TIME YOU RIDE that the screws (allen wrench style) are tight. If they are tight, you will not have any issues with the bar working loose. With regular checks for tightness, the bar will not accidentally move on you, which would be disastrous. I would highly recommend this item. There are choices in length when ordering. Take care to really analyze exactly what you need to fix your issue. This was a a pain saver for me. Completely changed my biking world. I give it 5 huge stars.

Very solid and reliable. Fine-tuneable.
Installed on a Cannondale aluminum CAAD8. /I ride 6,000 miles per year, but use multiple bikes. The long and the short of this review is that the only 3 possible drawbacks to this item are that: 1) It is heavier than many road bike stems, especially on high-end bikes; 2) It is a little less aerodynamic; 3) It looks a bit clunkier. If you can get past those things, then you will like the way it is very well made and reliable, and also allows you to tweak your riding position for comfort. That is the part that makes it so worth it.As far as well-made goes: I am unwilling to test a super-lightweight stem while going down a roller at 35+ mph. I need to know that my bike will hold together, even if I hit a bump, pothole or whatever. I am probably buying one of these for my wife's Trek FS. She says she has to reach a little too far for her reach.

more comfortable riding position
I had to lean forward too much on my bike, uncomfortable riding position. I found this and it changed the entire posture of how I ride, its comfortable and safer now. Took about 15 minutes to install, wish I found this years ago.

Solution for shoulder and back pain. Check your spacers if the fork wobbles after installing.
I bought this to straighten my bike while aggressively mountain bike riding. The only issue with the install is this stem is slightly skinnier than the Bontrager that came on my Trek Roscoe 7. This caused a wiggle in the fork when riding and braking. I dropped in to my bike shop and bought a spacer set that allowed me to take up the slack. When installing the spacers, the bike shop said fish should extended slightly beyond the top tube to have something to press on. Cranking down on the top cap bolt wasn’t the answer! I did break one of the handlebar bolts, but that may have been a torgue wrench user error. It was fairly easy to drill the bolt and get it to back out. I set it at the maximum 60 degrees and will play trial and error to find the best setting as I ride.

comes loose
The middle bolt and the pivot seem to move no matter how tight on torque them. I am almost to the point of breaking it and it still is loose at the joint and moves if i really get out of the saddle and go.

Quality heavy duty extension for bike handle bar
I ordered this for my e-assisted mountain bike. I prefer the handle bar a little higher so not to strain my back. This extension helped me achieve that. The installation was a breeze. Although it only extends the handle bar higher by around 1.25 inch due to the angle, I can already feel the improvement. Any higher probably requires replacing the handle bar. The stem is built with heavy duty metal construction. I don't do really rocky mountain biking. This extension feels very solid on sand and gravel trails. No adjustment or tightening required after bi-weekly biking for a few months. Highly recommend this for raising the handle bar within 1-1.5 inch, or to replace any stem.

Excellent upgrade
I bought two of these type of risers for me and the wife and what a big difference it's made on our mountain bikes. It changes your riding position and helps your back. The bike is so comfortable now. It's pretty well built but I'm not sure if it will hold up to abuse as in hey you jump a curb or you hit a whoop and jump. I think any hard riding and this thing will snap. But then again that's not what it's designed for. If your trail riding or on a smooth path these things are great. If you're doing any technical riding I'd be real careful. All in all though for the price for trail riding they're fantastic.

Good for your back.
My old one unbolted, and while balancing the handlebars with all the stuff on them, I bolted the new one on. Took about 2 minutes. Use torq wrench to tighten. Had to tighten more to stop squeeking when riding, but since then this has been great. A small change in position can make a big difference in comfort. The bikes should come with these, there that good.
