Used This For Streaming!
I've been wanting to stream Jak and Daxter for awhile now. I don't have a ps4 that I can play the collection on but I do have a PS3. The PS3 however can't use hdmi out to a capture card because of hdcp hardwired to it. This was the solution I can up with, and I just finished testing it! It works and I am so happy! With this I can stream not only my PS3 on my el gato, but any console that uses component or composite cables!MAKE SURE you get the component IN to hdmi OUT! I've seen a lot of complaints that this doesn't work, but no one seems to mention which direction they are trying to make it work in.

Converts component to hdmi
So I purchased this item for my modded xbox. I like the size as it seems not to take up too much room. I plugged it in and it works. Now thoughts . . . If you looking for just a converter this isnt a bad deal. If your looking for a better picture quality you need to look for an upscale option when looking into these. I have one that does both and you can tell a difference when comes to playing old school xbox games. That upscale option runs pretty smooth.

Poor quality control.
Received two of these broken on arrival. The picture quality is good, but they work intermittently. The first one worked for a few minutes then lost picture. You could wiggle the hdmi cable, and it would work for a few seconds and then quit again. Sent it back and got a replacement. New one did the exact same thing. You can see how poorly the hdmi connector is soldered under a microscope. Resoldering the connector probably would fix these, but you shouldn’t have to repair something new. Bought another brand that was a few dollars more and so far it’s working fine.Avoid these.

Does was it is intended to do
This converts component to HDMI, there is another model that does the opposite. Make sure you order the correct one. As far as its conversion goes it does exactly what it is supposed to do. It converts it only, it doesn't upscale, stretch or distort the signal. I used it it to convert the component output on my Nintendo Wii and Playstation 2 to HDMI using a multi console cable. The only issue with that is that I have to flip the power switch to the Playstation 2 off instead of putting it into standby, otherwise the audio from the Wii will not work. I believe that it's an issue with how the PS2 handles audio in standby with the cable I'm using, not the converter itself. My only gripe is that the AC adapter that the converter comes with a cable that is a bit too short. It's about 3' long. It would have been nice to have a bit more length. The case is made of metal and is very simple to use. Just plug everything in and it just starts to work almost instantly.

Works very well
I purchased the component to HDMI converter to use my PlayStation 2 with my newer 4K TV that doesn’t have component inputs. It works very well and significantly improved the picture quality from what I was getting with the original A/V cables that came with the PS2. There is no lag/delay and gameplay is very smooth. The converter box itself feels well made and looks nice. It holds up well over time too- my family has had another Volantech box to convert our Wii’s component output to HDMI for over a year and it’s worked out great.

Doesn't work well with older Wii
It didn't work well with my Wii. The picture cuts in and out like there is a problem with the bandwidth through put.

AT&T Uverse box fix for hdmi errors
I have a old at&t uverse DVR box that would not work on hdmi on my new 4k TV. The old TV had component and the DVR box had both. The DVR box would give me a error trying to sync with the TV on hdmi. This box let me use the component on the box to the hdmi on the TV with no issues.

Works great with El Gato HD60S
Used this to record a PS1 game through a PS3 onto my El Gato and there was no lag or compression. Looked great. But using this with PS2 (Silent Hill 2) to HD60s there was a large amount of audio lag in OBS. The lag didn't exist when viewing it through HDMI source on the TV tho, just lag in OBS.
