OMG - This Stuff is Awesome!
Ok, first let me state a couple caveats. I am currently learning mixed media. And when I say learning I mean that I occasionally drink the rinse water for my brushes. My mom (a professional artist for many years) recommended this paper. I strongly believe that even beginners will fail with poor supplies. This paper is so much more than "paper." Its more like maybe canvas for watercolors. It also works well for acrylics. I did some stencils, painting, and even hot glue. The paper held up better than some canvas board I have used - only the very faintest hint of distortion to the flat surface.. Good grief its expensive but I do think you get what you pay for in this case.

Nice Paper, After All
I’m changing my original review from 2 Stars to 5 Stars. Yes the pad has too much glue around the pages, with just a small area with no glue...but I bought an X-acto knife and I’m able to safely separate the pages. I read a tip where someone uses a credit card to separate the pages, and that worked for me, too.As far as the quality of paper, it’s really nice. The 300 lb weight really makes a difference. The page did not warp, nor did it scuff up when I used rough brush strokes. I’ll definitely be being more of this paper going forward. I still wish they didn’t use as much glue, though...but I’m happy there’s ways around that issue that doesn’t damage the paper.Original review:It’s ridiculously difficult to separate pages from the block. I don’t care how good the paper is if I can’t separate pages to use without damaging them.

Wrong description, sort of.
The description on Amazon starts with Yupo Paper and finishes with what it really is. I ordered it thinking I was going to receive Yupo paper. This was my first time purchasing yupo paper, had I known the product before, I might’ve not ordered this item as the picture shows the actual paper I received, which is definitely NOT yupo paper. To top it off, when I received the two packs I ordered, they were completely smothered in some sort of petroleum jelly and one of them was dented thru each sheet of paper. Overall a poor experience, but a simple correction. Just make sure you’re not ordering yupo paper. Hopefully they fix the item description/title. Other than that, the paper seems of high quality, but glued heavily. Nothing a razor or exacto knife can’t help with.

Lifts too easy
I regret looking for an alternative to Arches. I started a painting over 4 times because I thought maybe I was doing something wrong but no matter how dry a previous layer was, a new layer would lift color, leaving a bald, blotchy spot. It does not take layering well at all.It does keep the colors vibrant, it doesn't buckle, and the glue is easy to separate if you use a sharp tool, but it's not worth it if you have to tip-toe around glazing.

Great buy for 300# paper.
This was my first experience with using 300# paper. This did not disappoint. No buckling with this block. My new favorite watercolor paper.

Yuck
I’ve been a watercolor painter for 10 years. It was like gummy. Colors just didn’t flow smoothly. At least for me it didn’t work for my style.

Wrong type of paper presented.
Legion makes Yupo paper and a wide variety of extremely well made paper. This is not Yupo paper. It's cold pressed watercolor paper (Aqua) heavy weight The way its presented can be confusing.

Incorrect paper for my requirements with alcohol inks
This paper might be fine for other products to be used on it but it didn't give the results I was expecting with alcohol inks I bought with it. It was suggested on site that is the product to use but it certainly didn't work for me.
