RUDE BUT TWISTED
I must admit that the first thing that caught my attention was the cover. A sexy Brotha got my attention but then when I started to read the liner notes, I was a tad skeptical. I am not so offended by the gay literature but when I started to read the novel, it was so raunchy and explicit that I wondered if I was going to be able to finish it. It was in my opinion just another porn novel that I did not want to read but I continued to read because after all, I had spent my money. Well, to my surprise, the book got better. It concludes that Karma is a -----. That was the lesson that Kraig and Jarrod had to learn. I hated the smirkness of Kraig at first and then I started to feel sorry for him. I do admit that the author paints probably a dark side of the gay culture that does not support its community. I will not give out the secrets and twist of the ending but I do find that Mr. Pope has the irking of a good writer if he can learn to blend and take away so much of "all in your face" approach.

Issue can cause problems
Kraig had a lot of inner issues that caused problems in his live and those who he loved. The secret that his mom kept from him was so shocking. I was hoping that Kraig found love by the end but I'm glad that he was in a good space. I loved his relationship with Carlos, they were definitely BFF's. I couldn't stand Jarrod, he was so cocky and arrogant. This is a good read, being honest always pays. Would read more from this author.

Entertaining
This book was a bit different from the usual writings of M.T. Pope. There was actually two story lines Initiially, you wanted to dislike the main character (Kraig) for preying on the weaknesses of down low brothers. However, as the story goes along his real issue of his own insecurities start to reveal themselves. Kraig ends up learning a powerful lesson on the dangers of seeking revenge and almost losses the things that he loves most. The only negative point in this story was the discovery of who his father was. (second storyline) Without revelaing the outcome, in reality that part was a bit unrealstic and in my opinion was never fully explained which is why it losses a star.

Not terrible, but unbelievable plot
I won't say this is the worst book I've read, but I like the plot to be somewhat believable unless I'm reading fantasy or sci-fi.I find it difficult to sympathize with a main character that perpetuates so many stereotypes of gay black men. And even more difficult to read through a plot that wants the reader to believe that every man that sees the main character drops their pants for him. I mean really, there are definitely attractive men in the world. But writing about one that literally is aggressively hit on by EVERY man he encounters (for example, the main character goes into a restaurant and as soon as he encounters the server, the server asks "I haven't beaten off in weeks, wanna come sit on my d**k?"? Similar scenario for every scene in each chapter. In what world is this supposed to be? That's not relatable, that's just lazy writing. I found myself rooting for the main character's demise toward the end of the book. I won't spoil the ending, but the colossal fail of a surprise ending further shows an author that had run out of ideas. If you are truly curious about this book, I'd suggest borrowing it from your local library. Don't spend money on it unless you simply want to add more novels to your gay genre library. I've read some of M.T. Pope's other subpar works, this is about on level with those. I think I'll leave this author alone for a little while.

better than I thought
Not bad. I started with the sample and it just progressed. The story line was a bit weird at first, but the more I read the more I got sucked in. Some parts unbelievable (like all the married men) but the rest threw me for a loop. The last few chapters was not expecting that at all. But it gave closure to a well-rounded story. Would read more of his books.

Boy this man really did clean up
This book was full of alot of sexual scenes, which I like. It also had a main plot with how people with power use and abuse it. I felt the ending could have been a little better, but all in all, it was a good book.

Great book!
I love the book. I wasnt too impressed by the ending. The plot could have been developed more and it seemed rushed at the end. However a great read!
