Splish/Splash indifference to any reality
Indifferent read at most times, though well written. Who has to have female lead characters, I do, but only if it makes sense, and then have a good reason for a female lead, NOR her clone. I just love the idea of a beating father who wills his NOT beloved his gun/space/ship. Love simulator's teaching you everything, but Reality!!!! Some cute adventures, but nexus is good girl against criminals and that just does NOT hang together. Constant maintenance is reality though, take it from me I worked heavy airlift and it is a nagging, expensive nuisance. NO nano tech making it just right and NO real resemblance to "Firefly". Space troubleshooters, okay, but the money just seemed to be lagging. Criminals okay, but Interstellar criminals is more than a bit much. Just think, the politicians and lawyers of any planet are criminals enough to sink civilization into oblivion, so we go interstellar? Not hardly!!! Real bad spots: Assault rifles are NOT sniper rifles and real time training is a must. Jungle operations are for the fully trained, NOT the novice. Machine pistols fired from and at fliers is moronic. Try WW1 and see how it worked then. Too bad but, I have to think the gun ban in Australia shows in the plot lines, guns and training are not simulators NOR are they easy. Work Hard or Die! Summary: punk girl kid, goes to prison, inherits gunship, goes interstellar, and fights the Crime Lords. Is this PUNK Sci-Fi? Thanks, Harry!

Hmmmm
Having gotten sucked in and reading the rest of the other series he did, this one has me stumped. The problem with only 5 stars it does not allow for enough nuance I would give this 7.5 stars. While I applaud anyone that can and does actually sit down and write a book and publishes it, the characters compared to the Battle at the Moons of Hell are very different and they do some things that are not congruent with what you think they should be doing... I think you will either like the book or not... Not sure the characters that are left have enough for another book in them...

I gave it a go and I'm glad I did!
A friend of mine thought I'd like this even though it's not the sort of book I'm normally into. But I gave it a go and I'm glad I did! The protagonist, Samira, is an great character and I loved watching her transition from party girl into somebody tough and able to look after herself. This is one of the main reasons why I liked the book so much. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who's a bit tired of the soft fluffy vampire and werewolf stuff.

Intriguing, but...
Graham Sharp Paul was not an unknown quantity to me since I've already read the Helfort's war series which I've enjoyed to a degree. Vendetta was intriguing from the perspective of the society, mores and it's specific chain of events, but it still feels somehow off, improbable or contradictory...

Not a hit
I liked the Hellfort series, but this book left me cold. The technology was interesting but the heroine was not very likable and the situations not very reasonable. Not a horrible read, but I'm not interested in any future novels in this arc.

Bad Dialog
This really needed a better editor, and a good point by point walk through on the plot. Nothing tracks in this story, characters do things that make no sense compared to who they are supposed to be. I got to about 40% through the book and had to put it down, it was frustratingly ridiculous.

Great Read
This book was a very enjoyable read. Nice and fast paced action that I just couldn't stop turning the pages. As enjoyable to read as his Helfort's War series.Looking forward to what will hopefully be a nice series.

Accidently ordered book but was unable to return it
It happened so quick I just thought I was looking to see a preview of the book, but no Amazon charged it to my account anyway.Tried to cancel it immediately but the cancellation didn't go through.I am going to file a dispute notice with my credit card company.Seems to other way to do it, can't email anybody, can't talk to anybody. Finally got someone to cancel it, so all is well.

Bof
