Good Fun - Especially Walter Matthau and Stephen Fry
First off a few words about the DVD I.Q. Liebe ist Relativ which I purchased. The cover notes are in German. The DVD is a Region 2 disc and will play on standard UK/European devices. The film will play English without foreign subtitles. It also has dubbed audio tracks in German, French, Italian and Spanish. Optional subtitles are available in English and various other languages. The DVD menu is in English. The film itself is an offbeat romcom set in New Jersey in the 1950s. It stars Meg Ryan, sporting Doris Day outfits along with her usual 90s hair cut, as Catherine, a young scientist and the niece of Albert Einstein (played by the inimitable Walter Matthau). Catherine is set to get married to an uptight English psychology professor brilliantly portrayed by a young Stephen Fry. When the young mechanic Edward (Tim Robbins) falls in love with her at first sight, things become complicated. Uncle Einstein and his scientist cronies are determined to help the smitten Edward win Catherine's heart. To achieve this, a grand deception is staged. Edward has to pose as a brilliant scientist in front of Catherine and the entire academic world. Hilarity ensues. It's not Meg Ryan's best film, but it's a bit of good fun. A nice bit of entertainment for a rainy afternoon. Worth watching for Matthau's performance as Einstein, dropping various well known quotes of the great man and having great fun with the eccentricities of his character. I also enjoyed Stephen Fry enormously in this. He is a hoot as the pompous English scientist.

Brilliant. Why no blu-ray release?
This is a very underrated little rom-com with an excellent cast and a fun premise. It's worth it just for Walter Matthau enjoying himself as Einstein-plays-Cupid, but the rest of the cast do a great job also. The HD masters have existed for years on broadcast and streaming services, but sadly no blu-ray release yet.

IQ movie
This movie didn't make mainstream cinema release in UK in 1994. But I saw it in selected release in London and loved it. It's a nice gentle romantic comedy with Tim Robbins, Meg Ryan, Walter Matthew and Stephen Fry - ironic he was in a movie called IQ before he became host of BBC Quiz QI.It's a nice funny humorous movie to spend time watching when you just want to relax and not worry. Stephen Fry makes reference to filming with Walter Matthew in one of the QI editions. For me, just magical 1 1/2 hours of simple fun.

Very good. Saw this film years ago on TV but ...
Very good. Saw this film years ago on TV but think I started watching it after it had started. Have been hankering after it for a long time but it just disappeared off the radar. Have been doing a series of film watching based on certain actors/actresses and introducing children to films I like so this came into that category. A really enjoyable, funny little film.
