The kit is used for the production of electronic course for electronic enthusiasts or students. The FM pocket computer radio of this kit adopts x3653 integrated block, 16 pin double row flat package, the working voltage is 1.83.6v, the intermediate frequency of the circuit is 7kHz, and the peripheral circuit does not need intermediate frequency transformer. The frequency selection is completed by the RC intermediate frequency rate wave filter in the circuit.

FM Only - No AM - Otherwise Great DIY Radio to incorporate into other projects!
The media could not be loaded. I Purchased this as a possible candidate DIY radio to build into an Altoids tin or other enclosure as an emergency radio. First thing to know is that some of the description is not entirely accurate as to what this actually is. This is a Single chip FM only radio. There is no AM radio functionality with this kit. Some of the description text appears verbatim copied from a popular and longstanding Elenco Radio Kit where you actually build an AM radio, and then build an FM radio once you get the AM part working - as a course in radio construction and theory. This erroneous advertising is concerning and potentially misleading to someone unfamiliar with radio kits. This is not an Elenco Kit nor does it provide any instructions other than the pictures/schematic shown of the product on the Amazon listing. If you're comfortable with surface mount soldering, this goes together in about 30 minutes. The hardest part of this kit is soldering the surface mount radio chip. I did this first. I then added the other through-hole components. The 1/4 watt resistors included in my kit are a bit large for the hole spacing, 1/8 watt resistors were probably intended originally. The component values and polarity were printed on the board. I used a pair of smart phone earbuds as the antenna with the jumper in the middle position. This works great. I am very impressed with how good the sound is on this radio! It is stereo. It really locks onto the station and holds onto it. It tunes in many stations. The volume has 5 possible levels and it is certainly loud enough with earbuds. One problem I noticed is that the LED seems to be a modulation indicator and remains on steady after you turn off the radio. I just remove a battery but will just add a power switch in line with the battery connection. Overall, I took away a star due to the misleading description but otherwise this radio is excellent for the price. It aIso would be an inexpensive radio that could be easily incorporated into other electronics projects. I look forward to further experimenting and possibly adding a small speaker and experimenting with other antennas.

Worked Wonderfully After Assembly
Worked great after assembly but packaging does leave a lot to be desired. It was pretty much just jammed together in a small zip lock bag and a couple of pins were bent however, nothing serious that isn't easily bent the correct way again.

"FALSE-ADVERTISING"
The kit was fairly easy to assemble, worked perfectly afterwards, and the sensitivity & quality was surprising. It was, however, ADVERTISED as an "AM/FM" radio kit, whereas IT IS NOT! RE: It does NOT have "AM" at all, of which was the main reason that I was interested in getting it! (Other feedback, outlines this SAME disappointment, I've later found?) I will still find it useful, since it seems to work so well, but I wanted "AM" as a storm-monitoring unit & will have to revert to "other" resources. Sellers advertisement needs CHANGED It also came w/o ANY schematic drawing, parts list, or assembly instructions, which could be supplied on one sheet of paper, & would have left many younger & inexperienced buyers in the dark?
