Great for Stitch fans
My daughter loved this book. She loves Manga and Stitch. There was an inappropriate picture (in my opinion) that we had to talk about, but other than that, it was cute, and she read it several times. She is 9.

Not precisely what I expected but very enjoyable, and likely the closest I'll ever get to experiencing the "Stitch!" anime.

Fun For All Ages of Comic & Disney Fans/Readers
A fun cute all-ages appropriate manga that can be enjoyed by young and old alike. A rare gem in a medium that panders mostly to perverts. Nice to know at least the kids manga is safe & decent.

Poorly made
This book is rated for "all ages" but is clearly geared towards young children. I am not the target demographic, but as a manga reader and Stitch fan, I had to give this a try. Additionally, I was curious about Tokyopops return. If you don't know, Tokyopop made an extremely controversial, abrupt stop to manga production many years ago, and they've apparently decided to come back.Immediately, I could see how poorly the art is done. There's no shading to it, making it very flat. That lacking of depth makes a manga unpleasant to look at, and you can't get pulled into the visuals as well. The characters Jumba and Pleakley suffered the most. They are so badly drawn, they're borderline stick figures. The story of this book is about Stitch befriending a new girl, Yuna. I don't see the point in introducing this new girl as she doesn't offer anything special. It even feels like a big copy of Lilo. In case you happen to have never seen the movie Lilo and Stitch, Lilo made Stitch into the likable character he is. In Lilo and Stitch they use the phrase "ohana" a lot, to reiterate how much of a family they are. In this book, Yuna uses the phrase "ichariba choodee", meaning "meet once, cousins forever", which is a huge knockoff to "ohana". On top of that, Yunas parents are not in the picture, just like Lilos. She's practically Lilo. The story doesn't have a solid plot, each chapter is basically short stories. There's also what appears to be a typo in a chapter where Stitch and Yuna are fishing. Yuna says "Got on!" when she catches a fish, and I believe she meant "Got one!". Very bad publishing.I am very disappointed in this book. I understand it's made for younger readers, but that doesn't excuse the flaws.

Lilo and Yuna?!? and Lilo and Stitch
'Disney Stitch! Volume 1' by Yumi Tsukirino is a manga version of Lilo and Stitch and Yuna and Stitch. It's a series of short funny stories involving the escaped experiment from space. In the first part of the book, Stitch is living with Yuna and her grandmother on the Okinawan island of Izayoi. Familiar characters Dr. Jumba and Pleakley show up as well. In these stories, Yuna and stitch go fishing and do laundry and enter a costumer festival. In the second part of the book, Stitch is with Lilo and her sister Nani. In these stories, Stitch makes art and a cake. He also makes it snow in Hawaii, and goes treasure hunting at the beach. Each story is 7 or 8 pages long. While I prefer Lilo because she was in the movie, Yuna is a fun character too. I think I'd prefer these stories without so much Jumba and Pleakley, but that's just a personal preference. The art is pretty good too. These would be fun stories for younger readers.I received a review copy of this manga from Tokyopop, Diamond Book Distributors, and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this manga.

Disappointing for the First Half
Stitch is one of my favorite Disney characters. I was thrilled to see him in a manga. The first half Stitch was so one dimensional, he ate, acted naughty, and got kicked, beaten and things thrown at him. The fun family connection made int he original series was lost to me in this. He is not with Lilo for the first half, but with a girl called luna who told him he must do 43 good deeds to get a wish granted by a rock. Luna is an angry girl, quick tempered and not very likable to this reader.Luckily the second half of the books brought back Lilo, and they had adventure after adventure of fun. The humor was there they had fun. Stitch was still naughty, that's who he is, but it was taken with humor and love, Ohana. The illustrations were pretty good,. the action exciting, the intersection on the second half what I expect from Lilo and Stitch. I would continue the series if it sticks with Lilo and Stitch I wouldn't miss never seeing Luna again.
