Great learning tool
Grandkuds played with this toy for hours. I was leary about the plastic tubes breaking, but they held up well with a three year olds play

I need better illustrations
I feel that the instructions are lacking in this project. My grandson and I have fun putting these things together and playing with them. This toy is very difficult to erect, especially for an 81 year old and. 6 year old. We are still working on it. Hopefully we will get it right.

Impossible to Assemble
I almost feel like this set should have been made as a horrible joke to give to your worst enemy. The instructions are printed IN BLACK AND WHITE! This makes it almost impossible to read and tell where the different pieces are being instructed to go. I am 31 years old. My son asked for help and even I couldn't read them and I used to draw and read blueprints for a living. Once the pieces snap together good luck getting them apart, I broke 2 screw drivers and destroyed the pieces trying because we snapped something in the wrong location....Save you money and buy LEGOS or Kinects.(P.S.) I usually like discovery kids products they make some great stuff but I have to imagine this is one of their worst products ever

Seriously!?
Where do I start? First of all, the chain doesn't spin. Secondly, the marbles fall off the track. Thirdly, your child will NOT be able to put it together or even "help". Instead, you (the parent) will assemble it over the course of about 3-4 hours, only to realize it doesn't work AT ALL!! TOTAL FAIL!! NEVER EVER BUY IT!! Personally, I will no longer trust the "Discovery" brand. It's as if they never tried it themselves. Ours will be returned to Kohls and unfortunately, the retailer (who has nothing to do with this), will financially pay for the incompetence of "Discovery Toys". I found a you-tube video (made by someone else with the same issues). Search "Sharper Image Discovery Toys 313 Piece Marble Run from Target - Review". Watch the video and then read the comments and you'll see what I mean. I should've done that first.

Read and heed all the negative reviews!
This was undoubtedly the worst experience I've ever had with a product designed to be built by children. I'm not exaggerating in the least when I say that the directions are 100% useless. They're in black and white and look as if they're photocopies of photocopies. I've put together enough Ikea furniture to fill an entire house, so I'm not a moron when it comes to following directions to assemble things. With these, I didn't get past the first page. So my grandson and I decided just to piece some of it together and see if we could run a few marbles down it. Might have worked, except the pieces are almost impossible to fit together. I kept thinking we must be doing something wrong, but no. They just flat don't fit together. Finally, after MUCH effort, as in ten or fifteen minutes (again, no exaggeration), we managed to get two pieces to connect. Great. Only a gazillion more to go.Every review I've ever written was to say how great I thought a product was. This is my exception. I really feel I have to warn people just how incredibly crappy this product is. No matter how good it looks in the picture, please don't waste your money.

Piece of junk - don’t buy it!!
This toy deserves NO stars. A complete piece of junk. The pieces are flimsy and kept breaking. The instructions are BLACK AND WHITE and not helpful at all. I finally managed to get it together after a 2 hour struggle - my poor grandson wasn’t able to help much at all - only to find that the chain was 1 link too short! So the entire toy does not work. What a disappointment. Word to the wise: Do NOT buy this sorry excuse for a toy!!!!

Just trash
Cant give anything less then a 1 . Please people dont waist your money. Parts brake way to easy and the instructions are terrible . No way a child of 6 can build this . After starting it with my grandson had to buy another one because so many parts got damaged .

Almost a winner!
The color instructions were ok except for the confusing isometric views that were difficult to read. Needs a parents help to assemble and test. Each piece must be pressed home to make the final assembly work. A grippy disk is needed to get mistakes apart. We got the track assembled and then found that the main handle would not stay on. Ended up taking it off and moving the chain by hand. Time must be taken to align all the track and shape the drop sections to make sure that the marble stays on the track. Please fix the main handle axle. It made the whole thing frustrating to work/not work. Kids loved it when it worked right.
