Excellent Taste; Challenging Spout; Not the Freshest
Updated Review:I upgraded this to 4 stars because I finally figured out a solution with the spout. Hold the bottle spout-down in almost vertical position to start flow but QUICKLY, almost instantly tip the bottle back to control the flow. I still need to withhold one star because of how close to expiration date this was shipped. Sad to see that it's now unavailable because I decided I definitely wanted more.Original ReviewI was pleasantly surprised by this oil. I didn’t believe the reviews — how could it be that great and this affordable? True confession: I bought it just for the bottle because I couldn’t find an empty dark glass bottle this size on Amazon that didn’t cost MORE than a reasonably priced bottle of product. So imagine my surprise when I tasted it ... eventually. Gotta stop here and wait... wait... wait... WTF? Wait... Is it clogged? Is there an inner seal under the spout as with barbecue sauce? Nope. Seems the “clog” is part of the spout’s design. You must wait forever, afraid to shake the bottle in case it — then it does — suddenly pours heavily out of nowhere. If you’re going to cook with this, I strongly suggest you pour it into a food prep bowl ahead of time. You do NOT want to stand over a hot pan waiting for this oil to gush.So imagine when I tasted it... But wait again, because after I finally got oil into my tiny glass bowl and hit the brakes on the suddenly eager spout, I had to stop and admire the liquid. It is beautiful and golden, with an amazing floral bouquet. When I slurped it, it slid over my tongue so lightly that my whole mouth felt bright! Upon swallowing, it slid easily and pleasantly down my throat. Moments later came the little fire - cough - cough! Okay! With that out of the way, I drank the rest, delighting in the olive’s flavor, then poured another round to dip some bread. But that meant waiting for the halting spout again. What irony! I bought it for the bottle and ended up loving the oil and HATING the bottle (or more precisely, the spout). As it turns out, I won’t be able to reuse the bottle after the oil is gone, because I can’t find a way to remove this infuriatingly impossible spout, which I sorely want to replace. It is not simply inserted into the neck of the bottle but firmly affixed to the entire outer neck. The one good thing I can say about the contraption is that it doesn’t spill oil down the neck of the bottle. It has an outer lip to prevent that. But if I can’t get the thing off, I won’t be able to transfer my tin-can oil to it. If anything, I will be transferring THIS oil to another dark glass bottle. Pity.Like others here, I received the 2018 harvest, which gave me only six months before it expires in December 2020. My oil will be long gone by then, but I don’t like that I’m receiving it 18 or more months after it was harvested. It‘s no comfort how quickly after harvest the olives are pressed if the oil reaches the consumer nearly two years later. This, plus the spout issue, is why I may NOT order another bottle soon.

Quality Of Spanish Oil
We prefer Spanish olive oil due to it's mild, refreshing flavor. However, this oil flavor, though from the olive we prefer; Arbequina, is extremely mild and almost non-existent. So, if you do not want any "competition" with the flavors of the food you are preparing then buy this brand. If you want flavors then buy another Spanish oil.

The only olive oil I'm buying from here on out
I used to live in Spain and am very picky about my olive oil. I was skeptical of this cheesy packaging and the name but the oil does not disappoint. It's got that lovely tang that is typical of arbequina olives and YOU CANNOT BEAT THE PRICE! The pour spout is also lovely in that it is more of a sprinkle than a pour which is most appropriate for every day applications.I'm glad I overlooked the dumb name.

Good oil
So hard to find a good olive oil at the best of times but in the middle of a lockdown it is tough. Most all of oil in America is 80% vegetable oil, this however is 100% olive oil. I know olive oil and this is the real deal. The price for the quantity is extremely fair ; so this comes with a heavy recommendation

Good quality for the price. One of my favorite olive oil types.
Tasted within fresh date and cold pressed. A little smoother than other arbequena oils I buy, which are a little spicier and what I prefer. It stated from single Gold Coast region, harvested November 2017 which is longer than I typically like on the shelf. “Best by” date is 06/01/19 which means I have to consume in a little over 3 months which is doable.

Lovely taste and smell, one of its kind!
After trying this olive oil, I want to stick to it to use it on salads and bread. Also to add it on cooked recipes as a final touch. On fresh cooked pasta, after adding tomato sauce and before the parmesan cheese it gives an extraordinary flavor. I love it with toasted bread with tomato and garlic, it has a taste that is fresh, juicy, from the arbequina olive, which is the black olive. It is not a pungent smell and taste, it is just like having fresh olive oil just made. Excellent!

Just the best I ever tasted
This is one of the most or if not the most smooth, fruity, light but bold flavor in an olive oil I have ever tasted, just drizzled on tomato with a pinch of salt and some basil, for a salad dressing, just for anything you use olive oil for, the price for this imported jewel is just amazing!!!... and free shipping! really? just try it and you will be hooked for life.... I saw the company video... they are the real thing.. Co Op from Catalonia Spain..... looks like fair trading... I just love everything about this....

Artisan Olive Oil Value
Having traveled in Spain a numerous times I was certainly aware of the top notch olive oils produced there that rival or exceed the best of Italy or Greece however I first learned about Arbequina watching a fascinating documentary about the Spanish oil industry. Intrigued, this led me a an Amazon search, this particular oil and now a rave review. Try, and you'll be back for more.
