For people complaining. You need to make a drip loop with this at the top. Spin the cable into a circle with the connector on the top of the loop and both wires pointing down. Then zip tie or velcro your lead ends to the bottom of the loop.This way water drips away from the connector, not towards it. Also if you have a sharp angle of cable leaving the grommet it creates a gap that water can drip into. I've used 100s of these. Never had an issue

I bought another brand of these waterproof connectors a year or so ago. They were marginally effective. Then I bought these. The difference is like night and day. First of all, these things are heavy and strong and solid. They are probably 5 to 6 inches long and made of thick, heavy-duty plastic. The silicone seals are very pliable. I have no doubt that they will keep the water out.Bottom line; if you need to make a weatherproof connection on a Cat-5 or Cat 6 cable, this is what you need.

I wish the price was a little more affordable. You need to remember to put the waterproof pieces on the wire before you add the ethernet RJ45 plastic end piece. I had to cut a few off because I forgot, but it is designed to be waterproof, so it is designed the best way. They are heavy duty and rugged.

I was planning to use these to splice in a cable extension to an EMT based wiring system. What I found was that the connectors are really long and do not fit into a junction box. The connectors are well made, but are too large.

I’ve used plenty of water proof connectors but these were by far the easiest. Make your two ends up and just snap and screw on the ends. You can feel and see it tighten to keep it watertight.

I have a 270' Ethernet cable from my house to my workshop. This cable got damaged by my lawn mower. I used this connector to make the repair. It was just what the doctor ordered. It is water tight and well made. I am glad I have extras for future repairs.

Ordered 10 pieces. Only 9 of them work. Bad one worked for about 5 minutes after plugging in a POE camera, then it died. Verified pins 1 and 8 were open across the connector. Make sure you order a couple extra.
