Son-Rise: A Miracle Of Love

My son was diagnosed with autism, he is currently doing therapies for sensory integration, cognitive, speach and ABA. I felt there were still some big gaps that were not being addressed with my son, I felt like I had to start looking at other options I could do at home to help support his development. I didn't know much about Son Rise until I found an article that listed it as a developmental therapy along with RDI and Floortime (which I am reading some books and DVDs on). I was intrigued so I purchased the film to get an introduction to this family's experience and a glimpse of what Son Rise is about. It is a LOVELY film, a film I think most parents with an autistic child can identify with. I would most definately recommend this film unless you have the time and you know upfront that you are interested in pursuing this therapy...then get the book this film is based on. I plan on doing that now that I have watched this film and have watched the DVD from the autistic child (well he is not a child anymore!) the film is about, called Breakthrough Strategies for Autism Spectrum Disorders starring Raun Kaufman(By the way, THIS DVD IS AMAZING!!!!!).

I really enjoyed this movie about a mom and her effort to save her son from the clutches of autism. Her determination, strength and courage were integral to the healing, blossoming and enlightenment of her son. It is truly a beautiful tale, especially if you have or work with autistic children. There is hope, there are miracles!

I am excited to finally see this movie available in a DVD format. This story takes place at the beginning days of understanding Autism. Their love for their son, and their insistence to address his problems early, resulted is a wonderful outcome. This movie imparts hope to families dealing with this illness.

I always remembered this movie since I first saw it when it came out.Now it's on dvd and I FINALLY got to see it again.Great story...both heart breaking and heart warming all in a short 90+ minute movie.Watch it with a box of kleenex...if you have a heart you will need them.

This was the first thing I ever saw about Autism, and I'm sure it helped me raise my son to be uniquely equipped for his life in the spectrum.

This is the story of a family's journey with an autistic child. The parents' love and dedication to their beautiful little boy was both touching and inspiring.

A great movie. I loved it. It is s real "eye opener" as to what can work to reach the autistic. The movie changed my attitude in so many ways. I then bought the book...Son-Rise the Miracle Continues. Another attitude changing vehicle.

I remember seeing this when my children were little. I taped it on a video and have watched it periodically since. So pleased I was able to get it on a DVD. I ordered 3 copies for family as we all love it.Lovely film - just a shame about the misleading ending!!

Very good movie...very enlightening. It is amazing what that family went through to help their child so worth seeing and helping one understand Autism.
