Beautiful--but not for every kind of music
In most respects these are very high-end or even audiophile IEMs, which is remarkable for their price. They have excellent bass--clear and solid, with good extension to the sub-bass. They have great presence, detail and texture, and smooth highs. With two separate dynamic drivers, they have enough detail and finesse to pair with high-end portable equipment. But there's a slight flaw. The upper midrange and lower treble are emphasized just a bit too much. Because the sound is so clean, this usually doesn't lead to harshness, and in fact it adds presence and highlights inner detail. For most rock, pop, and electronic music, and for symphonic classical music, they sound pretty great, and their texture and layering are kind of addictive. But if you listen to solo piano, or a violin concerto--music that already has a lot of midrange--the pianos will sound too clangy and the violin may be right in your face.Listening to some old Jim Croce stuff, these were great--very vivid--even if Croce's voice and guitar were a little too forward. But listening to the Pretenders "Last of the Independents," the guitars were just too much in my face and did become almost harsh. The upper midrange emphasis also brings everything forward in the soundstage, so that there isn't much soundstage depth--although the two drivers bring very nice layering and texture. (My awareness of this problem was confirmed when I discovered the response measurements for these on the "Inner Fidelity" website. They show some peaks in the response at 3 KHz and 5Khz, which are responsible for this part of the spectrum calling attention to itself.) If not for this upper-midrange problem, these would for me be almost perfect.A couple of alternatives: Despite Beats having a poor reputation, their second-generation IEM is really good--the Tour 2.0. Sound is clean, detailed, and balanced, though weighted slightly toward a rich bass and midrange. The Philips TX1 is good at its very low price, but hard to find. The less expensive NuForce NE-600 is also good and has excellent low bass.

Best IEMS for the $. PERIOD,
Admittedly, I have more IEMS than I deserve. And some darn expensive ones. These have become my "every day carry". Like my H&K VP9. Why? They produce some of the best sound I've ever heard totally regardless of price. 3 days after burning these in I purchased a 2nd pair because they are just that good! Deep detailed lows, vocals are not buried in the mids, and crisp highs with no discernible sibilance. My only concerns are less than amazing strain reliefs. But to be honest, that hasn't resulted in failure, so who cares, right? With 10 pair to choose from I gravitate to these. Laura Lee by Savoy Brown shines with these! You can always spend more. But why? I'm loving these. No, you can't borrow them.

Ok IEMs, great for the price
For the price, these IEM's are nice. However, I was looking for more detail and low-end thump, so I went with the Fiio EX1's instead. The case that comes with these is absolutely huge, probably big enough for an iphone5. A few extra tips of different sizes are included in the case. After reading about these on 'The Headphone List', I decided to give them a try. From reading the review, they have emphasized bass and dual drivers, but the bass is not enough for me. The seal I had on them with the stock tips was decent, but again, the bass wasn't at the level I expected. If I was on a tighter budget, these would do.

Great sound. Just not for me.
The sound quality on these is pretty great for the price. I bought a pair of highly recommended $75 over ear headphones and these sound better than those. I initially got these as a test to see if I would like them since I needed a pair that wouldn't leak sound like my open ear headphones for when I'm on the go- and initially I was impressed. However its been weeks since I ordered these and I was hoping that the buds would adjust to my ears but they just don't. The right ear bud constantly falls out of my ear while the left one stays in perfectly. I tried all the different sized buds they provide and nothing seems to help. However that might just be a personal problem and might not be a problem with the actual headphones. If they fit for you then I'm sure this would be a great buy. For me, I probably won't buy them again once they break because I'd like my headphones to fit better in my ears. But for the price you're getting a decent product. I liked the provided case that comes with the headphones. And again- the sound quality really is top notch. A great pair of IEM's. They just aren't suited for my particular ears.

Sound nicely neutral to me
The sound quality of IEMs can be very sensitive to how they fit *your* ears. If you fail to get a good seal, you'll get compromised bass response. I almost always have trouble with IEMs, in spite of monkeying around with different sized tips so I don't generally use them. But for the occasional scenario where I want really good sound isolation, it's nice to have a pair handy. These IEMs worked well for me. I've been pleasantly surprised by the sound quality, which seems devoid of any glaring coloration or bias. My favorite conventional (over ear) headphones are Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros, and while these can't compete with those for punchiness and control on the low end, I think they do a really admirable job for the price and are certainly worlds better than any earbuds that come bundled with typical phones or similar devices.

I own the R1M and S1 I love them both!
I have tried BEATS, BOSE, SHURE, KLIPSCH, HARMON KARDON, POLK, these are excellent IEM'S for under $100.00 This company is going to revolutionize the market from quality of build to the accessories they include and premium packaging. The dual drivers offer a nice soundstage. There is no distortion in the mids or highs and the bass is powerful but not overdone. They are better than the BEATS. The only rivals under 100 are Creative Aurvana 3, Shure 215, Polk Nue Voe, and GranVela VJJB's dual driver offering. The price and packaging tilt the favor of these. Any of these under 100.00 products easily match the hugely advertised over hyped BEATS. You will not regret buying these!
