Will love find a way
"Maybe This Christmas" by Sarah Morgan........This story was so good I couldn't put it down. Seriously, I started reading it at 6:00 pm and finished at 1:45 am. It is a quick, wonderful read which is the continuation of the O'Neil Brother's series.Tyler O'Neil, world famous skier is home, and unable to compete due to an injury he sustained while on tour. Through it all his best friend Brenna Daniels was there for him. Growing up together and knowing Tyler since she was 4 years old. Best friends that hung out together, skied together, got in trouble together, and in the case of Brenna fell in love. This story deals with how Tyler is now working at his families business in Vermont. He is still skiing but not competitively. Tyler feels lost not being able to be out there with his friends all over the world, but he has responsibilities in the form of his 13 year old daughter whose Mother wants nothing to do with.Brenna has always been the girl next door, and little sister to the O'Neil brothers. She's hung around with their family more than her own because of her Mother. Her Mom never approved of the life that Brenna decided to live. Brenna's Mom wants her to go away from the O'Neil family and make something of her life besides working at the ski resort. There are many parts to this story that tie into the lives of Tyler and Brenna. Certain occurrence's in the past come to play for the future of Tyler and Brenna. Things that are a long time coming with secrets coming forward and how it affects the future. It seems that everyone in town, but Tyler, knows how Brenna feels toward him. She loves him, and he doesn't believe in love. This makes for an interesting story as the feelings come out.The book flows well, and like I mentioned earlier, it makes you want to continue reading just to find out what is going to happen. 5 out of 5 stars.

Slow Burning Christmas Contemporary
This a slow-burning, secret-crush, friends-to-lovers, contemporary romance with a holiday theme. I read the first in the series, Sleigh Bells in the Snow, last Christmas, and I didn't love it because I really didn't like the heroine. This book is better, and certainly works as a stand alone if you haven't read the previous books in the series (there's a second book that I haven't read).Brenna and Tyler have been best friends since childhood, but Brenna has always been in love with him, but kept her feelings to herself, believing Tyler would never love her back. Tyler is a commitment-phobe who keeps all of his relationships superficial after accidentally getting a high school classmate pregnant. He's attracted to Brenna, but would never act on it out of fear of jeopardizing their friendship. Both live and work at Snow Crystal Spa and Resort, a ski area in Vermont, but when the resort gets overbooked at the holidays, Brenna has to move in with Tyler, and their mutual attraction suddenly threatens their friendship the way they both always feared it would.I found the first half of this book kind of slow, but I know there are people who really enjoy slow-burning, tension-building romances, and this definitely fits that bill: the couple don't share their first kiss until page 269. The last third of the book moved a lot faster and I found it emotionally cathartic (it made me cry twice) without being too angsty.I had a few quibbles with some of the subplots -- Brenna's tense relationship with her parents resolves just too easily, for example, and Tyler's ex is just too shrewish to be believed -- but nothing that ruined the story for me.

Maybe this Christmas
Love Sarah Morgan books and this was one of her best. Sarah Morgan writes from the heart and her characters seem so real.

Disappointed
I have to disagree with some of the advance reviewers. I've been looking forward to this book for months and I just finished reading it. Just so disappointed. Yes, I know it's not Proust but still. I love Sarah Morgan. She's my favorite long-time Harlequin writer but boy does this book need a better editing job. I understand the release pressures that writers and editors are under right now but there are so many things that should have been fixed here:1. It should never take 2/3 of a romance novel to get to the slightest hint of chemistry between the leads. No hungry glances, no illicit snuggles by the fire, no steamy ski lift ride, no stolen kisses, no sexual denial, just a few, "Oh, I shouldn't be thinking that!"'s and then, 2/3 of the book later, sex.2. Three lines of dialogue followed by (literally) pages and pages of exposition and back story is a total turn off. This is the entire first half of the book. Lots and lots of telling, minimal showing. Also there's just so much "other story" that doesn't involve the leads together that the book is more "This Life In Vermont" than an actual romance novel.3. I'll say this again. The leads have no chemistry for the first half of the book. None. Truly none. In fact, the heroine is kind of pathetic in her obsession with the hero which is supposed to be part of her arc, but just makes her seem sad and deserving of her own Victorian novel. The first half of the book is packed with asides on how they're just friends, he could never feel this way about her, she's loved him forever. So repetitive, so cliched. The ending is truly lovely but literally my first thought was, this will end in divorce because there is no way they should be together.4. No American in 200 years has used the phrase "do you fancy" anything. There are a number of Britishisms in a book about skiers in Vermont but that one really stood out.Sarah is a wonderful, wonderful writer and it is very difficult to write a full-length book. I'm really looking forward to her future series. But I really hope her editor (who she thanks profusely at the end of this) is more frank with her. I want only good things for them both but sadly no, I can't recommend this book. Read the truly excellent first one instead.

I cried very happy tears…….
This is book number three from the “ O’Neil Brothers “ series and I have absolutely loved them all so much!I loved the way that the story was told and also the way that the characters from previous books are also in it and we get a little catch-up of their lives too.The chemistry between Tyler and Brenna was wonderful but all along neither of them wanted to act on it or even admit their feelings to themselves. Jess could see through it all though and was really desperate for her Dad to finally do something about his feelings for Brenna! All the way through I was literally screaming at the page for them to please get together and time and time again I was bitterly disappointed when they went their separate ways…..This book was wonderful and had the most perfect best friends to lovers trope and also the anticipation of the will-they-won’t-they was absolutely amazing and I loved it.There was an absolutely perfect ending and yes, I cried very happy tears! The ending also tied off all the loose ends for the series too and I loved how it all came together. An absolute perfect book to end a perfect trilogy…….

Such a good story
I really enjoyed Tyler and Brenna's story. Tyler regards himself as useless at relationships, and has never been interested enough in any woman to attempt anything long-term. But the fact is that he and Brenna have been best friends since they were three years old, and he can always tell exactly what she is thinking. Except it has never occurred to him that she might be in love with him, and she always has been. They have worked closely together for ages, since his brother Jackson began trying to save Snow Crystal resort after the tragic death of their father. It is only when they are thrown into even closer proximity, when Brenna is forced to share his Lodge with him and his daughter Jess, when the resort becomes full for Christmas and she has to give up her own Lodge for a few weeks, that they are forced to take a closer look at their relationship. It is a sweet story, with a fair bit of angst. Sarah is good at writing emotions, it is a good story, worth reading.

Oh how I loved this book
Oh how I loved this book, it's the last in a trilogy but there is nothing to stop it being a stand alone book, although being such a fan of The O'Neil Brothers #3 series, I would say read them all. Also the 1st one started last Christmas, so still a great Christmas read, where you get to know Jackson & Kayla - Sleigh Bells in the Snow. The next book was a summer story, where you got to meet Jackson's gorgeous twin Sean and his road to love with Élise - Suddenly Last Summer. Now finally we finish with a last winter read - Maybe This Christmas, you meet youngest son Tyler, his 13 year old daughter Jess and a fellow ski instructor Brenna who has been treated like part of the O'Neil's family for many years. The family business is Snow Crystal Resort, Vermont, where there has been many ups & downs but the lovely warmth of the family and the 4 generations who live their lives there make it a place you want to go to.Tyler has always seen Brenna as a sister figure, one of the lads because that's what she portrays herself to be. Inside her heart safely hidden away so that it cannot be hurt, she loves and has always loved Tyler but doesn't want to lose the chance of his friendship. However events change and Christmas Day is a day to remember. 5 great big stars from me.

Feel-good factor, still lingering .............
Well, I have been in a warm, fuzzy place for a week after reading this brilliant book! Snow Crystal is an absolutely captivating place, described brilliantly by Sarah Morgan. Forget beach holidays after reading this, I want to learn to ski and holiday in mountains and forest! The O`Neil family are what you hope still exists in modern-day America. They have traditional values, an unbreakable family bond, and a burning desire to keep the resort of Snow Crystal in the family for the next generation. The three sons (sigh) are all individuals who pursue different routes in life before returning to Snow Crystal.Maybe this Christmas focuses on Tyler - probably the `bad-boy` of the trio - although they are all strong personalities and headstrong in their own ways. Tyler is determined to stay single after a teenage encounter which left him with a young daughter, who he had little access to. Brenna, who had known mostly all his life worked as ski-instructor alongside Tyler. She has loved him since they were kids. He sees her as one of the boys. This is a story of family, loyalty and burgeoning love. When things eventually do take off between Tyler and Brenna - the sex scenes sizzle because of the raw passion shown by this couple. The same could be said for Jackson and his twin brother Sean in the two previous books in this trilogy, when they eventually won their woman.Sarah Morgan is a gifted writer, she gets the balance just write in her storytelling, and the tales unfold easily. No pages are wasted and you seamlessly flow from one to another, eager to go deeper and deeper into the story. As said, I have been swimming in a sea of feel-good this week - a rare treat for an avid reader of this type of fiction. Lovely. Cant praise highly enough!

Tylers story. The final in the trilogy
I loved this so much that I kept re reading parts of it as I went along because I didn't want to finish it!This is Tyler's story;- the final book in the trilogy. The strange thing is that from the first book the reader knows what is going in happen in the following two tales but it does not spoil the enjoyment as you want to find out how the brothers end up with their respective partners. In the first book I thought Jackson was the ideal man but then with book two I thought that there could be no better lead male than Sean. Well, what do you know? by the end of the final book I thought Tyler was just perfect! Each of the books could be read as a stand alone novel but I think it's preferable to read all three in chronological order as it builds up a better picture of the family, business and the characters.Really sorry that there are only three books in this series as I think there is more mileage in this family and the business. I want to know how Tylers daughter Jess fares and there are two weddings waiting to happen as well. What about more details concerning the ups and downs in the relationships and new additions to the family? Please ,please continue the snow crystal saga!
