Kotobukiya Star Wars Han Solo and Chewbacca Artfx+ Statue

Wow, another excellent quality set of figures from Kotobukiya! I continue to be impressed with the craftsmanship and design that comes out of this company. I started with one figure and now have over 15, when will it end? I have them on display on top of my DVD and Blu-Ray movie cases, I get a lot of compliments on the setup and people love to look at them.Many of the reviewers have mentioned how difficult the arms are to insert into the body of Chewbacca, I must agree. I might be a little older than some of them as I grew up building plastic model cars, as opposed to the beautiful die cast ones available today that are already put together. In those days we got a lot of pieces and not only put the cars together we customized them with our own choice of paint colors and accessories, it was fun. The reason that I bring this up is that after trying a couple of times to add the arms and failing myself… I went back to my days of making things work when putting something together. I got out a small emery board and carefully took a little off of the male sections of both arms. I would suggest going very slow and only sand off a little at a time so that you don’t overdo it. However, in no time they both slid completely in. I believe this will work for you too. I feel bad for anyone that broke their bow, I think if you try my method you will find that it does not take that much pressure to push them into the body.Thank you Kotobukiya and Amazon for offering us such beautiful lifelike figures!

Detail of figures excellent. Han Solo really looks like Harrison Ford. Han easy to put together. Chewbacca not so much. R arm more difficult than left. Some suggestions: Put right arm in first with a slightly moistened joint on insertion side.. Put pressure on inner side and once mostly in place I gently bit down on the elbow and arm to sinch it in place. I did not damage the arm or leave teeth marks. Little crazy but jaw power never hurts. You could bite down over a Kleenex if you are overly concerned. It did snap in place. I needed that extra force on the outer aspect to get it perfectly. The L arm I had to finagle a bit because lack of space but fit and both arms cross at correct point with the L hand supporting the gun.

I love the Kotobukiya series! Nice details! Unfortunately this set is the only one out of five that I own. Chewbacca's arms had trouble staying put. Could have been a defect in mine but I managed with it. The Kotobukiya figures should be handled with care. These are not action figures. The only problem I've had and this was my fault was, I had Chewbacca on a high shelf and I knocked him off. When he hit the ground his leg snapped and broke off. With any of the Kotobukiya figures, I recommend in casing them. I personally make my own casings. I only give this set 4 stars because of the issue with Chewbacca's arms. Any of the others I own would get 5 stars.

I purchased this set after becoming utterly hooked on the line. It began with the Return of Anakin Darth Vader followed by the Cloud City Boba Fett. Naturally I simply had to have Han and Chewy. Having read issues other collectors were having with attaching Chewy's arms, I decided to prepare for the worse. Upon arriving home from work I immediately put on a pot of water so I may heat the limbs with the hopes of getting them properly attached. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and found Chewbacca completely assembled!!! I suppose Kotobukiya has decided to finally fix the issue. Now I've seen reviews that was posted as late as January of this year so i have no idea when the issue was fixed but believe me follow collectors, it's been fixed! Anyone buying this set (I ordered mine directly from Amazon) should hopefully get the fully assembled Chewbacca I got.

These are fantastic sculpts...I think they look even better in person than the pictures. And, yes we all know Chewie's arms do not fit. I used some heat on the "male" ends of the arms...not too much is needed. Don't scorch them or anything. I used hot water for about a minute or so for each, then used an x-acto knife to slightly trim off the edges of the arms. This worked fine for mine. The arms fit in really snug and don't appear to be going anywhere once I got them in place. Han's parts went together without any problems. These are great figures and display so well. Minor issues with Chewie's arms but just use a little care and patience when trying to assemble them and you'll be fine.

I really wanted to believe mine would be different than the reviewers - The head of my Han does not go down into teh socket all teh way, making the line on his neck noticeable, as if he has a severed head. Both Chewie's arms do NOT fit into their sockets at all.From what I understand, there is a trick where you can dip teh parts in boiling hot water for 30 seconds enough to soften them to fit in to place. I have not tried this yet, but for a $120 item that advertises the highest quality, you should not have to. Otherwise, its a beautiful figure. Oh - be careful - don't try to force them! As I was forcing one of Chewie's arms, I lost control and dropped the arm and one of teh little pointy tuffts of his fur broke on the floor. These statues are very brittle.*UPDATE* The company's customer service did right by me for a second time. They replaced my statue with a brand new one. Thanks KOTOUS!

Sept 2016. NO Chewbacca Arms issues!!. So they changed this figure?. Not sure when or if people can find out before they buy....There's Lots of complaints about Chewbacca's arms. I was a little concerned about this when I ordered it but knew with some minor work/glue it'd be OK BUT I was shocked when I opened the box. New Sealed. Chewbacca was already put together.......Actually, his arms are NOT separate pieces at all. The ARE are part of the figure. I didn't have to do anything. Man what a relief. Anyone else find this out recently? And of course the price drops in the last 2 weeks.
