Great finish, works well!
Wanted to migrate to BNCs on my HTs. This unit works great on my Diamond antennas.

Seats well against HT
I literally just ordered another one in SMA male/BNC configuration. The base that sits against the HT case is wide enough that you don't have to worry about breaking the connector because of an accidental bump or drop.Makes switching antennas a quick process. No issues with grabbing the wrong antenna. Then having to use a whimppie adapter that if you're lucky may break off.

Favorite SMA adapter of hundreds
Can't go wrong with Diamond - I like the low profile, durability and excellent signal we get with these adapters. They've tolerated and performed in very cold icy to very humid and arid desert conditions year after year and still are reliable performers. With more poor quality adapters circulating than ever we appreciate these being consistent and tough.

Well made
Serves the purpose and is definitely lower profile. Fits the Yaesu FT-70DR perfectly.

High price and potential problem design. I'll stick with the all Gold plated design.
From the angle of the pictures all the grounding/grounded areas where you need maximum conductivity have the black coating. That coating can't be conductive or it would short the HT's transmitter output. But if it is NOT conductive then it would provide a poor ground, if any at all.I have this type adaptor in the all Gold plated version on a half dozen l;icensed Amateur Radio HTs for quick antenna changes between various coax cables to Yagis on a tower and the rubber duckie. The ones I use are have gold plating on all conductive parts for superior conduction. I get excellent transmission power efficiency thru 100 feet of RG-8x to a dedicated YAGI and a typical VSWR of 1.01 to 1.04.
