I bought this journal for a 5 year old. The pages are printed double-sided, which is nice. The paper is pretty thick but markers may bleed through to the back of each page. The lines are probably "college" rules versus wide-ruled and they do not have those primary dotted lines in the middle, which is fine for me since the teacher is trying to get the class to print smaller. Each page is identical, with the top part for a drawing and the bottom part for writing. I really like this journal and it will be great for my child's needs.
