Nice Curling Iron
I like this curly iron. I couldn't find one of this size with teeth in the store, so I bought this one. I have short, layered hair in a bob style, and this curling iron works great. It's not the kind with the clip that holds hair and makes it really curly, so if that's what you're looking for, this isn't it. This is your basic curling iron with teeth, with a decent size barrel. The retractable comb feature is a nice touch and works great if you get your hair stuck. I've had no issues whatsoever, and it curls my hair in a nice, soft curl just the way I was hoping it would. There are 4 temperature's to choose from which is also nice. I've had this for a couple of weeks and so far so good. I hope it lasts for the money that I paid. Only time will tell.

Love retractable bristles!
My go to is Remington's Retractable curling iron which is now discontinued. So I decided to get this one since at some point my go to will wear out. It's the only way I have ever been able to use a curling iron. It must have retractable bristles. I always wear styling gloves. I tried this out as soon as it arrived. This is a 1 1/2 inch barrel and my go to is 1 1/4. I like the 1 1/4 better as it gives a slightly tighter curl but this new one works just fine. I had to hold it a tad longer to get a good curl. Heats up fast. Multi temp settings and is easy to use. All in all now I have something to fall back on. Retractable bristles are so great I don't know why there aren't more to be found.

Best Curling Iron Ever!
This is hands down the best curling iron I've ever used. Once you get the hang of how to hold the curling iron so that you can easily press the release button, it's pretty simple to use. I especially likes that once you wrap your hair around, you can let go with one hand and simply hold the curling iron until it's time to release. Whereas with the wand, I have to hold my hair on it until I want to let go. The curls it made were so beautiful! I'm obsessed. What's even better is that you can also use it to straighten your hair and brush your hair as you straighten or curl.

Would recommend.
My hair is usually very very much straight. I am not used to using a curling wand or iron on my hair, so keep that in mind when reading this review.Temperature settings: I love this part. It actually tells you what temperature you are choosing, instead of just high/low. It's very easy to select or change the temperature.Heat up time: Pretty quick! Not the fastest I have seen but also not slow.Easy to use: it took me a few tries to really get it down. It does what it says, which makes soft curls/waves and doesnt tangle. I cant imagine using this on shorter hair. I think it would be really hard to use on shorter hair. I start with the brush toward the roots, then while holding the tip of my hair, I brush down toward the tips of my hair and then start to roll my hair up in it at a vertical angle. You can also press the lever to release the brush part, and use it as a wand(you have to hold the lever down the whole time but it's not awkward). That part isnt so easy for me to do.How the curls look: So, you wont get super tight ringlets with this tool, as the barrel is bigger and just the over all function of the tool wont really allow it. I think the brush part does a great job of eliminating any frizz on the curl. It gives a more natural look, which is what I am going for. On my long, thick, straight hair(virgin hair), that I rarely use heat on, the curls dont last long at all unless you use a hair spray. On my hair, the curls probably last a couple hours before going completely flat(without the hair spray). I cant speak to using it to brush through and straighten the hair because my hair is already pretty straight.Quality: it's not the best quality, but it's still quite nice. I'd say its in between drug store and professional quality but leaning more towards drug store. The barrel isnt anything fancy but it's not cheap quality.Overall, I am happy with the purchase! Knowing what I know now about it, I would buy it again.

Not so much....
Now that I’ve been using this for a couple of months I wanted to give a little bit of insight. First the fact that the combs retract and release the hair is a fabulous feature of this iron. However I don’t know why but it grabs your hair you cannot smoothly comb through your hair with this iron to get it to the ends to start the curling process it feels like it catches no matter how smooth the hair is when you start. So beware of that it does heat up nicely and it does give you a decent curl but the ends are not nice they’re frayed when you’re done.

The best for soft hard to curl hair !
I have soft thin hair and Brush curling irons work best for me . It makes Soft curls with lots of volume . Brush curlers have a tendency to get stuck in my hair when it’s longer, but with the retractable bristols it’s perfect ! I can grab my hair and hold it in place and then retract the bristoles and get the curl to hold in place while it cools ! It’s so awesome,I’m gonna say the best iron I’ve ever had .Not cheap but worth the money . No more cutting out a piece of hair burning in my iron ! No more getting stuck and ripping it out of my head. The heat settings are awesome . The hottest setting is too hot for my hair and fried it a bit on the bangs , my bad.... i dropped it down a notch and it’s perfect !

Garbage. Did not heat up at all.
I just received this today. I was so excited to try it after reaching the videos and seeing the reviews! I tried several different outlets in case it was something in my end. It did not heat up at all. The light stayed a steady bluish white. I left it alone for a few minutes each time to give it time to heat up. Nothing. Cool to the touch.I’m giving it one my chance. Because I do understand there can be defaults. I will edit this review once I get the replacement and see if I change my mind or if it gets worse.
