The rings could be a little bigger to make it easier to get the rod into holder. The angle could be a little higher as well, even with downsized ice fishing reels, the reel handle still hits the ice when the rig is in the holder. I like to be able to reel up a bit if I need to while dead-sticking without taking the rod out of the holder, but the handle will handle will hit the ice. Also, on some of the holders I received, the rubber coating was dipped thicker, and a ridge was left in the coils. This makes them too small for my rods to fit in. Luckily my dad has different rods and they fit in the holders OK.So far, they seem sturdy and should last a many seasons.Minor inconveniences that would not deter me from purchasing more if needed, but not perfect.

They seem to work as described, but I found them combersome. They fall over easily also. I would look for something else. Just my thoughts.

These rodholders annihilate the other types out there. These fold up compact, and fit nicely on the edge of a bucket or on your sled for transporting out onto the ice. The other bent "saddle" cradle types, are pure crap. Rods blow off them, they tip over, and they are too flimsy to pack down with snow. Trust me, these are what you want; stop richarding around.
