Excellent Product, Well Worth The Money
I just received this product on Jan 6, 2021, after researching this type of product online for several hours. It is now Jan 8, 2021 and I have already converted at least 15 VHS tapes of various lengths ( 30 min to 4 hours) with no issues. Most of these tapes are 15 to 38 years old, so I am very pleased to get them into a more secure & reliable digital format. Writing the contents of the VHS tapes directly to a Micro SD card makes it very convenient. The quality of the video content written to the SD card is as good as the content on the VHS tapes. I love how I can monitor the video being converted on the screen of the device without having to hook it up to a TV.After copying the contents of a tape to the SD card, I pop it directly into my Windows 10 PC and load the video into the Windows product called Movie Maker, where I can edit the video content. Movie Maker readily accepts the AVI format generated by the digital converter device. From Movie Maker I generate a new digital movie in MP4 format, which can be easily played on many devices. It is now so easy to share these videos online with the whole family. I am so pleased I found this Digital Converter device.

Spend the extra! - Prone to issues.
I have never written a review before but I feel obligated to save someone else some trouble.First off, the RCA cable supplied did not work, the ground wouldn't connect and was causing drop outs. I had to order another. This device converts your files to .avi files which appear corrupted when to import into your video software. The audio/video sync will be off once you import into your computer. A work around is to download avidemux and convert your files. Use .mp4 output format & aac audio. This will fix a/v sync and will allow you to import into your editing software. After owning this device for about 3 months. It decided to stop turning on.Now I see it's no longer available. I wonder why....

Works great
I didn’t realize it automatically puts a date tag in the bottom corner, but it can be turned off easily. Some have said the audio gets out of sync when put on the computer, but I noticed when converting it from AVI to MP4 the audio gets in sync again. There is an odd glitch that happens at the beginning of a recording where the video skips around for a couple seconds before recording normally, but usually waiting a couple seconds before i shoot the thing I’m recording helps with that

Straightforward to use. AVOID using the included micro SD card
The device was very simple to set up and was pretty much just plug and play with my Sony CCD-TR64. As other people have mentioned the files it generates are in .avi format but converting to mp4 with something like handbrake or shutter is no big deal. HOWEVER - I would only use the included micro SD as a way to test that everything works. Your mileage may vary but when converting the avi files to mp4 that were originally recorded on the included micro SD I would get a lot of glitching and audio desync issues, but the files would be completely fine when played back as avi. I swapped it out for a 32gb sandisk SDHC card and now both the avi files and mp4 files are perfectly fine. Also worth noting that the listing says it uses a type c usb cable to charge but it actually uses a mini usb cable (which is included so not a huge deal).

Came broken, no SD card, no usb power cable and only a Yellow and White RCA.
I think this could probably be a good product but I ordered this and it came as an open box product. something inside the recorder was heavily broken as it made a ton of noise when moving it, it did not come with the sd card, usb cable or the same rca cables shown in the photo. All though I do have very bad luck when buying things as almost anything I buy comes with a issue but I would be warry before buying this and see if there is something else similar that fits the same budget. I'm not sure how you can order something new then get an open box with only a quarter of the items listed with the product let alone a broken product.

Easy to operate!
I really like this converter so far, as it's easy to use. The micro SD card is already inserted in the slot. I don't have the same issue of the micro SD card falling into the Video Grabber as reviewed by others when I tried to remove and re-insert it in. Once I figured out how to operate it, the digital transfer goes smoothly. I then copied the files onto the computer. I installed the included Arcsoft Showbiz software and the editing is simple and easy to use. I watched some YouTube tutorials to familiarize myself with it. With the free 3-yr warranty offer included, this Video Grabber is a great product for digital transfer. I just wish I did it sooner as my old tapes starting to show some degrading in quality.

Mostly junk
The first one they shipped was just an empty device (no hardware inside). The replacement was complete, but it only lasted through ~10 transfers and now doesn't work at all. It's cheap junk.
