Q: Has anyone tried to make a rainbow through this with a flashlight?

Most modern flashlights don't actually produce every color of light, in order to make them more energy efficient. The exception is old fashioned, cheap incandescent.

Q: OK I give up, I have tried 2 of these "crystals" and neither one of them would produce a "rainbow" of light, only white light???

Please make sure you are using natural sunlight. Artificial light won't produce the desired effect.
