Mirka Abralon 8A-241-2000B 2000 Grit Silicon Carbide Sanding Pads

These work great for a good consistent resurface of your bowling gear. The only concern I have is that they don't seem to be real durable. After 2 balls they lose their bite, even though I kept them nice and wet the whole time. They will continue to work for probably 4 or 5 but if your gear is heavily used you'll burn through these pretty quick.I use these with a SMarT type kit where you attach the pads to a cup that goes in a drill to rotate the pad and the ball sits on a spinner that you can rotate. So when I resurface a ball these pads are seeing a lot more movement than they would if you did it by hand. Take that in to account when I say they wear quickly.

Just got a set of 10 in the mail and what can I say but wow. Being a hardware noob I can say these are nothing like paper based sandpaper. They are more like a very very firm sponge. By hand I am guessing it would take years to wear them out. So far only used 4000 grit to take the factory polish off my new bowling ball (changing surface changes how the ball behaves on the lane) and was able to do it fairly easily by hand, in like 15 minutes and the pad didn't look like I had used it all. With that fine of grit its barely more taxing than cleaning it with a cloth. If you are bowler these are the set for you (with only 500+ grit like this set has it is virtually impossible to not be able to return your ball back to its factory finish quite easily). Buy these once and you won't need to worry about sandpaper for many many years.

I saw this item in a Youtube video, and they are wonderful when used per the Youtube video. Wet sanding a table top. Just make sure you have applied several coats of finish (ie. polyurethane) so that you will not sand through and all pores are completely filled. Then gently sand, being careful to not sand through or catch an "edge." Periodically observe carefully at an angle. Just wait several days until the finish is completely hard and cured before starting. Rinse carefully when done and dry gently.

This does exactly what it says it will do. A great thing about working with abralon is that it holds water realy well. If you have a prrsonal spinner at home, great! If you have a water line for you spinner that's insane! (My wife said NO!!! ;)) The great thing about the wet sand is that you don't breath in the dust and it doubles and triples your pads life. The foam padding helps hugg nicely for even resurfacing. You may find that finer grits don' t last very long. This pack is a great value! The best starter pack!

These pads are great - used in the correct application environment they will last a long while. They don't load easily and they clean up well with compressed air or a quick vac. Use them on an uncured finish and you'll be throwing them away almost instantly.

Bought this to use on bowling balls with a ball spinner. So far they are holding up great. This was the best deal for Abralon pad sets that I could find and works exactly how I had expected.

I ordered these to add surface to my bowling balls (when needed), when you are an avid bowler like myself you need to carry all types of accessories to keep your game in check

The Abralon pads are great, I use them for my bowling balls and working on my car ( headlight ) . And I'm thankful for the pads.
