bObsweep Pet Hair Plus Robotic Vacuum Cleaner and Mop, Midnight

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I received the bobsweep on December 21 and immediately opened and started using it. I have used it everyday since. This is my first experience with a robot vacuum. I had high hopes for this vacuum as it had some of the best reviews and amount of good reviews compared to others.Unfortunately it falls short all around. It does a decent job picking up on hardwood floors but still manages to miss a lot. Carpet is another story as it picks up some thing's and leaves behind or drops others that I have to go back and vacuum myself. It didn't pickup small particles even after going over the same area several times. Or didn't even go over the area at all and missed it completely. It goes in such a random pattern it misses a lot.The mop feature is a total joke. Dont buy it for the mop feature that's for sure. The "mop" is an attachment you put a wet microfiber cloth on. It lasts about 5 ft and is dry again. Hand mopping is much faster. But, again, I have a very larger area to clean.My living area is roughly 1500 sq ft of open floorplan with hardwood floors. It was getting exhausting sweeping and mopping the floors at least 3-4 times a day just to keep them looking decent with two children and a dog running around. It keeps wanting to only clean one side of the room even if I start it on the other side.It does an okay job in the bedrooms. They have carpet and it missed a lot of particles. But for a smaller 12x12 and 9x14 room it was okay. Much better than my open living area. I attached a photo of my living area to get a sense of the size. It gets stuck A LOT so I can't trust to leave it to clean without supervision. First few days I scheduled it to run at 3am so we'd wake up to clean floors. Each night it would get stuck in a random spot, usually in a corner near a heating vent. It would just go in circles and never "find" it's way out. It only wants to turn one way even if I remotely turn it. It stops and turns back in total opposite direction I wanted it to go.It would get stuck and turn off under tables, low chairs, and under beds. It is very loud. Initially set it to run at night but it kept waking us up.It has a really hard time finding it's charging dock. I have the charging dock on a long empty wall in the middle of the room with nothing around it at all. It still cannot find it unless I pick it up and put it at least 5-8 ft in front of it.No app to "map" your home is a big downside.Overall if you have a smaller area and looking for something budget friendly to pickup between major cleanings, this would work fine. I, however, have larger coverage area and it hasn't wowed me enough to keep it.Unfortunately I think I'll be returning this vacuum and looking for something else.

I chose the boBSweep Pethair plus over a new Roomba or Shark because of the review. When it arrived I was shocked at the size of this thing - it's huge compared to my 3 year old Roomba 780 - taller, larger circumference, you name it - it was like an Escalade next to a Mini Cooper. The dust bin is HUGE - you would not need to empty it out often, but it didn't pick up as much dirt as my roomba did, even when I ran the roomba after the bob - Roomba won. The remote is large with lots of buttons, and the buttons on the Bob are also physical push buttons - my Roomba was a touch button device - I liked the physical buttons better, but didn't like that they are not backlit - in a dark room I needed to turn on the lights to restart it when it got stuck - and that happened a lot. Even the virtual wall is huge - its over a 0.6-ft^3 - and I was told to get these to stop Bob from going over the carpet as a fix.The Charging station is nice, with good contact points for charging - Bob had trouble making it back to the dock though, and I would find him in the middle of another room with no power. The other thing that Bob couldn't do was transition from hardwood to carpet well. He would just go around in a circle for 5 minutes or just straight stop at a transition. After I pulled him off and hit Charge he would normally make it back, and it's nice that the return function does not engage the vacuum, since this is one, very loud device.I have a Deik cordless vacuum that's not as loud as Bob, so don't expect to run this while you're home like the Shark Ion. The Roomba is too loud to run while you're on the same floor as it, but we could run it while we watched TV upstairs. The Bob is too loud to run while you're anywhere in the house.I figured with the size, noise and reviews it would be great - but in the end, it's being returned to Amazon to exchange for a Shark Ion.

The reviews I read were great - my experience was not. This vac had trouble with everything - could not go from hardwood to a very low pile area rug. It also just stayed in the same spot on a rug and went round and round for 10 minutes in same spot. I moved the machine. It got stuck underneath a sofa and a sideboard. The vac is 4" tall the sideboard has a clearing of 3 5/8". The bobsweep's front got stuck under the sideboard, the back wheels did not touch the floor and the bobsweep just ran but did not move. I called their customer service (which received rave reviews on Amazon). The rep. told me the machine was doing exactly what it was supposed to and I should add something to the top of the bobsweep, like a toothpick and that would keep it from trying to go under the side board! Unbelievable. He also told me it was impossible to do as I described and get stuck under the sideboard - with him on the phone I put the bobsweep by the sideboard and turned it on. It got stuck within 20 seconds and asked if he would like me to send him a picture - he again told me about the toothpick. I asked to speak with his supervisor - he said he was not in - I asked for the supervisor's name and he told me Robert. I asked that Robert call me back - I am still waiting for the phone call. I sent it back. Would not recommend this product.
