First thing to do on unpacking is soak the 2 clear pipes in hot water to remove any kinking and shake loose any water inside, also notice the bellows hasa direction of flow arrow on it. For syphoning petrol it is a very effective tool and well worth the price and far better than the plastic bellows type

I used this to prime a Volvo V50 fuel filter after changing it. Cut the tube down to size, attached without clips, and then pumped all the air out. It really is a basic, simple product that works fine.Only removing one star because it must cost about 25p to make, however, the cost is the same as all others.

Good quality reasonably priced, easy to use, not a massive flow rate but only a small diameter tube so it's what you would expect, would recommend

This is an effective and robust suction pump for syphoning liquids, my only dislike with this is that the tube is quite thin and where folded in the packaging has several kinks which are difficult to get out and affect the water flow.The hose is also quite rigid and maintains the coiled shape, if passing through a pipe or spout this might not be an issue, but I found that the end of the hose need to be weighted to keep it straight.

I filled at a small country garage and broke down a few miles later. I got my motorbike home in a mates van and bought this to empty the tank. It took out 12 litres in no time without any problems- you could see there was water in the petrol as it was cloudy.

Absolutely useless. The tubing is so thin that it just kinks over on itself stopping the flow. Even if you stretch it out straight the flow is a miserable trickle. You would lose patience trying to siphon off a pint of milk never mind a petrol tank. Don’t waste your money.

This type of pump needs to be constantly squeezed to work. I had thought/hoped that it would use inertia once it had started to keep pumping. Pretty disappointed. The volume for a pump is low, so it takes ages, definitely not what I was looking for. It also came unassembled with no instructions , and there is a little gold clip that I have no idea what it’s for. So yeah, it’s just sat there now. Meh.
