Carlson - Co-Q10, Co-Enzyme Q10, 200 mg, Energy Production & Heart Function, 90 Softgels

Several decades ago I had some mouth/gum surgery and the surgeon gave me some CoQ10 capsules to take after the surgery, suggesting that this aids in healing and has many health benefits. Ever since then, I've done more research and have been taking CoQ10 supplements like this one - usually 1 every other day so as not to overload my system. This Carlson brand is more costly than the ones I've been using - however, I looked up a different brand and theirs had 100 mg capsules with 60 pills/bottle for $41. This bottle contains 200 mg per supplement with 90 pills/bottle, so for certain quality brands this price point is on par with some other brands. (Carlson also makes CoQ10 with varying mg and pills per bottle at a lower cost.)The capsule is a little bigger than I like, but still tolerable to take. It's about .9" long. I do like that it includes a small amount of Vitamin E in the capsule and that Carlson Labs are an FDA registered facility (their site says they've been around since 1965). I don't like that it includes some trace amounts of titanium dioxide for color (they could do away with that for my vote), plus the bottle does not indicate that this product is manufactured with GMP certification or compliance (does 'FDA registered facility' negate the need for this?). It does not state that these are 3rd party tested, but CoQ10 has been around a long time and is not new to the health craze of supplements.These took a long time to arrive - ordered 8/22/24 & delivered 9/07/24, but with the Dec 2027 exp. date I think it's a fresher batch. I am taking these with confidence that the pros of CoQ10 and this brand can be trusted. My heart and energy levels will benefit from these supplements. And I do love that they say this on their site: "The full Carlson product line is recyclable and 100% plastic neutral. Carlson offsets the plastic in our products through investments in certified plastic removal projects taking place in our global waterways."

This Co-Q10 supplement is made by a reputable brand, so that gives me a peace of mind taking it. The capsules are very bitter even for a quick swallow and have a strong unpleasant smell - I don't know if that's normal. I'm not sure if there is a way to measure impact from this supplement since it's an antioxidant with a long-term preventive role, but I have not experienced any side effects and, incidentally, have felt somewhat more energized recently.

I feel CoQ10 is a great antioxidant that I value to help protect my body. Along with other nutrients such as quercetin, alpha lipoic acid and others you are getting good quality here. I value antioxidants in there purported ability to protect against free radicals as they scavenge those out of the body I am told. Keep in mind I am not a healthcare practitioner or doctor trying to recommend anything or cure anyone these are simply my own opinions. With my own experience. Your results May vary. High quality supplement here from Carlson, a well-known nutraceutical company. With a great reputation.
