Fun deck of cards w a little educational value
Let me start by saying these cards should not be used by the serious forager. They have limited real world application. That said, my family has thoroughly enjoyed reading through these cards. My 9 yo son loves compendiums of animals and plants, and these cards fit the format that he adores with some information presented as stats. He's enjoyed looking through these cards again and again, and he excitedly shares information with his sister, grandparents, whoever is around to listen. These are fun cards with some educational value, but not to be used as a serious identification tool.

Beautifully illustrated
These are beautiful and well illustrated. I bought them for my mother for xmas. English is not the author's forst language but they are lovely.

Cool, but not best for playing cards.
I love the information on each card, but they are not really ideal for playing cards. The texture, size & thinness is awkward. Also the actual card numbers are hard to read quickly because they are so small and the card is dominated by a lot of other txt. I had high hopes for these, but feel they could use some alterations. The graphics are also underwhelming. Absolutely love the idea though!

When in doubt, throw it out
I am an ecologist and forager. I think these cards are very cute and work very well as playing cards. I think that's probably about all they're really useful for. On the box, this card set advertises itself as a way to learn identification, and I do not think this is an appropriate descriptor. These cards DO NOT contain enough information to be useful in identification, ESPECIALLY NOT for foraging for EDIBLE plants and fungi. The images are too stylized to be helpful in identification, and there is little to no information about defining identifying features of these plants and fungi. Admittedly, they don't have to contain all of the useful information to be a fun product, but they advertise on the box as an educational product for the purpose of learning identification, and that is disingenuous and potentially dangerous. The information cards at the beginning have a disclaimer to know enough information for positive identification before you eat anything, but never state that these cards are not an adequate source of that information. They also have a ranking system for various attributes like toxicity and seasonality that does not make sense (or is not explained fully). Additionally, the oyster mushroom card appears to use an image of a shiitake mushroom. Use these for card games, but don't be fooled into thinking they can replace or even really supplement a field guide.

MANY mistakes/errors, pretty disappointed :(
These cards are heavily littered with spelling, grammer, wording, formatting, and consistency errors - too many to ignore. It mostly sounds like someone new to English was googling facts and choosing random ones they found. I think if these were edited for grammer and consistency in descriptions, these could be very cool. Just disappointed in how many mistakes there are, nearly every other card had something odd.(Some spelling issues I noticed:‐ Fool's Mushroom, 2 of Spades - "deadlyness"- Sea Buckthorn, 6 of Clubs - "vatamin C"- Snowberry, 4 of Clubs - "Birds...fest upon the drupes"- Mezereom, 3 of Clubs - later is spelled "mezereon" on the same card...- Walnut, King of Hearts - "squirels"- Sweet Chestnut, 10 of Hearts - European is not properly capitalizedInconsistent descriptions and wording - some only describe appearance (though a picture is provided), while others have large descriptive paragraphs that include a variety of details. The wording is very odd in some places (and often grammatically incorrect), and there are typing errors (like random double spaces, lack of spaces, and new paragraphs started in odd places).Lastly, there is one card labeled "Gypsy Mushroom", which should be relabeled under another name for the mushroom as the term is outdated and harmful.

Inaccuracies.
Inaccuracies. An example is this which is a depiction of a shiitake mushroom not an oyster. Also cards are made of some type of plastic and take some getting used too.

Buyer beware of plastic!
BEWARE: plastic! Cards are made of a thick plastic. Total disappointment.

IDEA GIFT FOR A FORAGING FRIEND
Perfect little present for a friend of mine. Informative and fun and will be useful for the work that she does. Only downside wasn't the product itself but the humungous box that it came in complete with a ton of packing to fill in the gap. But I doubt if that was the sellers fault.

Great little nuggets of information.
Great little product. I wasn't sure what to expect but they are playing cards with top trump style information about wild plants they are a joy to look at.

Disappointed in the quality of the cards
Great idea. I like having multi use game cards and although the information and pictures are limited to what you can cram on a card, overall I was happy with that part, however... These cards are let down by their quality and lack of functionality. The cards are printed on poor quality card stock: they are very bendy, appear to have no coating, varnish or laminate. This makes them more difficult to shuffle and deal as they stick together right out of the box. Considering the environment these are likely to be used in - in my case camping trips and forest school - some sort of coating would have made sense, water resistant at best. I cannot see these lasting very long at all due to the poor choice of card stock. The card is very absorbant, bends, marks and creases easily. Nice Idea, poorly executed.

Standard size pack of cards
Not opened yet, as its a gift but disappointed with the size, which is standard pack of cards. I imagined they would be a bit bigger so very expensive for what you get. I wanted to get my son something useful but if I gave that to him as a present he'd think I'd been cheap.
