This Persian Haji Jalili carpet created, consists of cotton warp and threads, a hand-knotted wool pile and natural vegetable dyes, circa 1880. From the workshop of master weaver Haji Jalili, one of the foremost artists of his time, the style and coloration are unique to his collection. The soft red, orange and cream tones of this carpet are balanced beautifully by its deep navy, making this an exquisite piece that is both striking and calming to the eye. Its central medallion, consisting of a flower expanding outward, represents the infinity of existence. It is an exceptional and one-of-a-kind piece in excellent antique condition. The size is 9'8" x 14'2".
