Mollie Makes Christmas: Living and Loving a Handmade Holiday

Oh my goodness, this is everything I wanted in a crafting magazine! Mine was a hard cover, so it really is more of a book then magazine. It has several different projects to enjoy, from had stitching to crochet. It includes patterns for all the products, but you will find (as with many craft books/mags) that you need to enlarge the patterns with a photo copy. The instructions are easy to follow and they include full color photos of them in progress and completed. I think you can easily adjust these crafts for all seasons, instead of say ornaments on the felt bag (front cover) you can stitch a bird in the nest for spring. No fancy purchases of materials either, many of these are made from felt or yarn. I highly recommend this if you like multiple projects with instructions in one convenient book (magazine).

I love the Mollie Makes magazine although it's been hard to find the magazines in the US. I first discovered the magazine while visitin relatives in England. When I heard that they were putting out a Christmas crafting book and I could get it here, I was definitely excited! The book is packed with a variety of crafting ideas for Christmas. Anything from knitting, crochet, working with felt, paper crafts, etc.. All crafts have detailed instructions and pictures to aid in making the items. They all seem very easy to make as well! Definitely a great book to have if you love crafting, especially Christmas crafting!

This is a cute book. I used the dahl horse template for a card but that's it. If you have been crafting for many years, if you have a collection of craft books and magazines, if you have access to the huge amount of stuff on the internet then you don't really need this book. I guess I feel the same way about this book as I do the Mollie Makes magazines....they both seem to be a cross between granny chic and kawaii (Japanese cute!)!

A few good ideas, but I don't care to make many of them. Some that I really like are just mentioned with a picture, reference to a website and no instructions. Probably won't keep this one.

It's a cute book. I think the Mollie Makes magazine is great and full of inspiration and was expecting even more from the book. There really aren't many crafts (only 20) and I think you'd normally get more inspiration from the magazine. It is well photographed and well laid out. The crafts aren't terribly unique but it's a cute book.

Cute projects. I absolutely love the Mollie Makes magazines and books. There's always something that everyone in the family can make.

Since I don't know how to crochet or knit many of the items are something I can not make.This book does not teach the basics on how do do either of these items, so I have decided topass the book along to someone that knows how to crochet or knit.

I gave this book only 3 stars as I was a little dissapointed with it. It is cute and has some nice projects but I was put off by the amount of projects that were featured and then only the website or blog addresses given for me to go and search them myself - that is not why I purchased a book!The pictures and background pages are very nicely done and the vintage feel is lovely. I did not use this book for any projects this year but hopefully will pull a few from it next year.
