A decent shirasaya for solo training
For $65, this is a decent piece. Mine is very solid, and does not rattle in the saya, which is especially important with a shirasaya. My blade passed the paper cutting test. If you plan to be in a sword battle, or cut bamboo, this would not be the sword for you; but a decent solo training sword, or piece for a collection. I am dubious that this is hand-forged steel, and the hamon is artificial; but the sword arrived much sharper than most high-end swords I have swung. I don’t recommend partner training with this one. I took off a star because I don’t think the description is correct, as the blade is not straight, which is what is pictured in the product photo, and which is what I was looking for. Also, hard to believe this is hand-forged. I am not sure what modern rōnin expect for $65, but the sword I received was well worth the price. Mine is nicely finished, as well. If you want a katana blade shirasaya, and you can’t spend $$$ on it, this isn’t a bad choice — just don’t expect it to be a $500 sword.

Not the blue I was expecting
OK for the most part beautiful sword beautifully crafted sword came oil based which is always a good thing when by samurai swords always make sure your Swords are based and oilTo stop them from rusting and dolling out on you now even though the sword is perfectly made my only problem is the blade is not the blue I was expecting the blue portrayed of the picture is not the blue that the sword is the sword is a mixture of purple in blue a set of being the rich deep blue that is portrayed in the pictureSo that's one thing to be careful with when purchasing the blue samurai sword like I did because your blade might not be blueBut over roll I like the sword

Sweet Product, Sweet Price
it came as advertised and shipped faster then expected, the entire feel of the weapon is very pleasing and i can use it as a walking stick, though id hate to scuff it up. it came with an "ok" edge on it, but a couple passes with a whet stone to knock the factory edge off made it a little sharper. and where the scabbard connects to the handle is very nice and firm. almost have a hard time separating them. so if you do walk with it its not going to continuously keep popping off. all and all great by, with it came in some more colors but this will do. i will be getting one for my daughter this xmas. highly recommended blade. ive not tried to cut anything with it yet, but im more of a stickem then slashem guy anyway.

Dissapointing!
What can be said. It's a cheap sword. It is 1045 so it is functional, but thars about all that can be said. It is Very heavy for what it is making it a bit unwieldy. The paint in the saya is VERY cheap and flakes off very easily. The blade is far from polished and shows a lot of machine marks. All in all I got it on the cheap for the purpose of wanting a Zatoichi in my collection, but if I had to do it over I would have saved for a higher quality piece.*Prettt certain this sword is cursed. It randomly falls over even though it is placed in a way that should be impossible to fall over. It knocked my camera over and broke it. Has attempted to fall against windows and break them...might be time to get rid of it*

GREAT value! I love this product!
So there was a few knicks in the paint on the handle and scabbard, as well as scratches on the brass; that's as far as my complaints go though! The blade is heavier than i expected, still easy enough to use one handed, best and most comfortable with two hand use. Not a mirror polish, but it came oiled and shiny enough. Not razor sharp, but MAN is this thing sharp! Just wielding it honestly wakes me up, because i realize any mishaps with this thing can be fatal! If youre looking for a good starter sword that's affordable look no further, and if your ideal blade is a straight single edge sword then buddy you've struck oil! I'd 10/10 buy this as a gift for any sword practitioner, but maybe not for a sword collector. If $60-$80 is your budget, this is the sword i recommend.

Better than I thought it would be
The musha is a great source I got multiple swords from them but this is my first Damascus from them I was kind of skeptical about this or that first reading the reviews from other buyers but overall is a Greatsword I love the weight of it and everything nice and sharp the Damascus blood red finishes awesome Grace or especially for its price I love the fact that posed to be an American sword or whatever but it says made in China in the back I think other than that it's a gray so I highly recommend you buy it

I've seen better blades for 20$$
Well for starters you can clearly see it is not Damascus anyting but the reason for the one-star is once you hold it you can tell it is definitely not a Full Tang and if you look at the pictures you can see there is only one dowel holding it so you can pretty much assume from that that it's not going to be Full TangBack to the blade when you look at the blade you can see all kinds of flaws in it little pits and stuff like that
