One 1 stick broken in shipping!
Seems like okay chalk. Haven't used it too much but it writes and isn't too dusty(but it is dusty, not dust free). Out of all the pieces and the shipping only 1 stick was broken so that seems pretty good to me.

Great chalk?
Well my wife and I can't agree. I think the Hagoromo is better, but my wife thinks this stuff is better. So upon further testing I get where my wife is coming from. I feel like the Hagoromo is softer. This stuff may be firmer, but still smoothly puts chalk lines on the board. They both feel good, yet different. Anyway, this stuff seems to be a toss up with Hagoromo. So can't really complain. It's all just chalk anyway. Who to believe? Me or the wife...Update: Upon further use, with a real big real blackboard, this chalk is the easiest to write with. Very little friction. Very good lines. Lines aren't as creamy and nice as Hagoromo, but it does flow and write lines easier and with less friction. very good chalk. But poor packaging or shipping, with 8 or so pieces busted upon arrival.2nd update: This is better than hagoromo for low resistance writing. don't get me wrong, hagoromo is creamy in nature, but this chalk gives less resistance in writing. so long hours at the board, this wears my arms out less. So smooth and effortless to write with. hagoromo may be creamy, but it comes at the cost of increased friction to shape and form lines.

Not as smooth as Hagoromo Fulltouch
I burned through a box of these teaching calculus this summer, and while the chalk is fine, it isn't as smooth-writing as Hogoromo's Fulltouch chalk, and it lacks the protective coating.I actually bought this because I wanted the fulltouch chalk w/o the coating (soooo smooth writing), but this is not that. It's a different feeling chalk, and it's a bit less smooth. Still nice, but I'd go with Hogoromo while it's available.
