Perfect Fit
I have an old HP Laptop that had an older HDMI Port, this adapter works great to the newer cords.

A convenient dongle
I used one of these while I waited for an internal HDMI module for my HP EliteDesk Mini computer. It worked well, as HP unwisely put two DisplayPorts on the back and one SVGA module inside. The adapter worked fine and has a great picture on my 55" TV.

YES, THIS WILL FIX IT.
Volunteer for a local theater and they needed a laptop. got an HP with displayport. No signal, they call me.Did updates from HP and Intel on video display boards, tried another "over cat 5" solution, briefly considered using a hammer... bought this instead. It Works. Flawlessly. Immediately. The other adapters I had should've done the job, but would NOT do the job with the cat5 adapter inline. Direct with HDMI... Good Pic. hook back up to cat 5... nada... Maddening. If you have any issues with an HP Displayport, do yourself a favor and just get it. You'll save yourself hours of frustration.

Reviewers are right
I bought this adapter based on the reviews. Glad I did. Worked great in the end. However, it didn't work initially because I bought a "refurbished" older model HP docking station for $18 that turned out to have a malfunctioning displayport and USB port. Fortunately, the laptop had both and they worked perfectly. Although the docking station was a disappointment, at least it provides the additional monitor via the VGA and it charges the laptop while docked. Not bad for $18. You get what you pay for right? The reviewers were right about this adapter and it works perfectly.

Pricey but better than the alternatives
For a while I had my main computer monitors connected to my workstation HP dock as well as my gaming PC and would cycle between inputs. Unfortunately each of my monitors only had 1 DisplayPort which naturally went to my gaming PC. So I was forced to use HDMI cables for my HP Dock, which sadly only has DisplayPort inputs. After unsuccessfully attempting to use a number of chineseium adapters, I finally came across these. They worked like a charm, but are easily in many cases 2-3 times the cost of the cheap knock offs.

It worked!
I tried a few other generic model adapters with my HP EliteBook 840 docking station and they would not work period. This authentic HP adapter (DisplayPort to HDMI) worked out of the box no configuration required! Was going to ding 1-star for the cost but sometimes you need to pay for quality...

This IS the DP-HDMI adapter you are looking for.
I literally tried five other adapters to use with my IOGear GCS62HU KVM and this is the only one that gives me a crystal clear display at 1920x1080x60. Yes, this was the most expensive, but the old adage "you get what you pay for" comes to mind. Most of the others were so-called 4K ready, but each of them resulted in varying degrees of twinkling pixels when displaying a complex, dark image. To be fair, the second runner up was the IOGear adapter and at less than half the price, it might work for you. My setup is a home office that I use for hours a day, so it was worth it for me to get this one, even with my triple monitor setup.

That it works!
Needed a new HDMI output for double monitor configuration. Works great.
